I am going to counter this with a couple examples:

Being a professional and being exposed to chemicals in general on a daily basis, PPE(person protective equipment) is of prime importance for me and those oh so expensive OSHA regs and fines(which of course I bet everyone ignores).

I always wear long sleeves and long gloves along with goggles and and an apron IF i have to pull out anything with ABF/HF in it.

..One day cleaning 750il wheels that were laughing at everything, I have some WB a try full gear, really a calm day and used close up agitation(no EZ brushes to prevent splatter) with some low splat "custom" agitators I use exclusively for this chemical.

Got around the car, washed/dried/clayed polished and sealed ... owner took delivery.. I go in to wash my hands at the end of the day, and SOMEHOW eventhough nothing splattered my arms had come in contact with it, producing that small red raised but not burning irritation. Knowing immediately what happened I went and got the calcium gluconate from the cabinet and went nuts with it and everything turned out to be OK..

But keep in mind, I am extra careful and wore FULL PPE and it still hit me and burned. The local urgent care people were surprised when I took a volume detailer friend of mine in who had called me when it splatted on his leg at work, they were surprised he walked in....

Its no joke, I probably only use WB once every couple of months...but for the amateur or professional don't screw with this stuff. Smart or Stupid :).

    Mike,

Im not discounting the severity of the issue, I wear a mask as stated in one of my original posts, but then someone said it was pointless because of the type........ And according to some, unless you are going to wear a full chem suit, maybe some people should not be using it, because some folks here have taken it to extremes and created doubt in peoples mind thinking they will die from this stuff.

Maybe if you are that worried don't use it; and if a hospital grade mask is rated to protect you from airborne pathogens Im pretty sure its OK to use with a wheel cleaner.

I spilled some on my hands last month and I had no irritation or burning, but Immediately sprayed APC on it and knew how to react to possible chemical burns. I have really sensitive skin, in fact im allergic to laytex gloves.

I don't doubt the safety of the issues you are talking about, they are printed on the bottle; but again I think most of its common sense and that is what I was directing my comment too, if you want to drive 100 MPH with no seat belt then good luck. (same analogy with sticking your face 2 feet from a wheel while spraying acid on it)

I was not telling or suggesting people to go off spraying it like it was water. People need to be aware of what they are using, and how to use it.

I hear and agree with you, I definitely didn't take your post as a discount.. I just wanted add some enrichment for the people who really don't take it lightly. No worries Karl :)

I think its important for people to hear that it can burn you, and what to do if you do get burned........... same goes for waterspot remover.
