No its gas but I can get one with a Duramax in it. I have read where modified diesels are getting better mileage than stockers. Was also considering taller gears. this thing is geared so low it will give mountain goats a run for their money on steep hills.

I started with a Caravan cargo van. Killed it. Had an Astro but wanted a little more room. My Savana has way more room and gets the same horrible mileage my Astro did. The 4.3 in the Astro was always working way to hard. Maybe a small block V8. Hmmm...

How many miles/kilometers per year do you drive?

As much as I love my Tacoma with the 4.0L V6, there's no way on earth that anyone is getting 24mpg with that engine, especially fully loaded. I pull a small 5x10 enclosed trailer and get about 15.5mpg. It's only rated for 18 city / 21 hwy.

Here's an old pic of my current setup:

That is a beautiful set up.I was thinking about a set up like that but in alot of our subdivisions, I would be blocking TWO driveways with a unit that long. Is that your garage in the background that you work out of as well?

You might check into the Toyota Previa. Comfortable, reliable and pretty good for a minivan. The 94 & 95's had a supercharger as an option. The 96 & 97 had it standard. About 20 mpg city. Optional AWD is very reliable and some came with leather. All for under $5K.

Engine is mounted under the vehicle and on it's side. Access is a little tough, but with proper maintenance, they're good for 300K. When buying one, make sure he SADS shaft (accessory drive) has been properly R&R'ed.

Do you bring your own water in that truck? That would explain why you get 12mpg!

The water doesn't weigh that much. 100 gallon tank is only 850 lbs. Everything including me is around 1500 lbs. The van is rated for around a 3000lb payload. As someone mentioned earlier, its geared way too low and with a small v8, its always working. A client of mine has a new one with the 6.0 litre in it and we get the same mileage.

The garage you see behind my truck and trailer is actually a garage space I rented out over the winter time (since mobile detailing in freezing temps doesn't work real well...hehe).

If I didn't have a water tank and generator to lug around, I could get by with putting everything in my truck, especially with the soft cover that I put on the bed recently. Anytime I have a light job (wash and wax, or just a wash), I will leave the trailer at home since I use ONR a lot. I can throw a couple 5-gallon jugs of water in the back of the truck and call it good. Of course, that's for residential work only.

cause you have a different trim level; heavier, gearing is also different, made more for pulling power than performance and efficiency such as the Xrunner edition excels at... and mine more so since its not stock
