Lexus IS200 and a lesson on how NOT to "BUFF" a ca

This job was completed 2 weeks ago. It was driven directly from another having the paint “buffed” by somebody else. The owner came to collect it he was horrified to find the condition it was in, so I was called to see if I could sort it out and the car was delivered straight over to me. The finish was covered in hundreds of hairline scratches, RDS and was hologrammed all over. The owner asked me to correct the damage as best I could, but did not want to go to the expense of another correction detail, so we settled on a one pass enhancement with 3M Ultrafina on a blue 3M waffle pad then wiped down with IPA to ensure no holograms remained. After correction the LSP of choice was Mothers California hard wax which is becoming very popular with customers because of its great finish. Also we cleaned and hovered the interior, cleaned and fed the leather, polished glass, hovered the boot and cleaned and dressed the engine bay, tyres and arches, The alloy wheels were sealed using 2 coats of Rimwax, which had not been done previously.
Firstly the car was washed with a citrus and Megs APC combo to remove anything nasty then it was clayed and brought in to see the full extent of the “damage”. Once finished this was a stunning shade of blue.

    Time taken 16 hours.

Now onto the Detail pictures. Hope you like.

I feel your pain, I hate when other give detailing a bad name.

NIce save. I have one like this line up in 1 week. Dealer said they "buffed" it before my customer purchased it. Its a black Infinity FX45 and i have never seen a car this bad. Will post pics later.

All and All, that is nice work with 1-step polish.

Lovely work on this one. Sometimes a one-stepper is all it takes to bring a vehicle back from the dead, right?

Great work I'm sure the owner was stunned by the results you achieved with Ultrafina alone.
