Im not knocking their marketing, its ingenious actually...........The point of marketing is to drive sales, and that is one thing they do VERY well. Marketing is about putting consumer emotions into action and I for one will buy based on what I see and hear. I buy their products, I have been able to really weed out what works and doesnt, and what is hype and what is duplicate. Once you do that, the site and its hodge podge of overly descriptive words is just more fluff.

I do not think anyone here has once said it doesn't work, its more ribbing the video and the overall "chemical guys" experience.

Apple and Android are the same way, its all about marketing and creating loyal fans and users, nothing here that CG does is abnormal or out of the ordinary when it comes to marketing, it just is a little wordy.

I guess whatever they're doing works damn well: we are on page 8 of discussing their Lava Wax. I do have to give it to them: although their Web site is a bit of a cluster, I've yet to be disappointed by a single product I've bought from them.

Just to clarify, what cg does is genius, create sommany "different" (lol) products when your customer base is filled with people that tend to want to have the latest and greatest. Who knows if the products are truly different enough to yield a quantifiable difference, either way people will gobble them up and that creates the perfect environment for detailing product mfgs to use this to their advantage... Genius, pure genius...

I'm just glad to be sitting on the side of the fence where I no longer am "chasing the dragon" since I no longer have the "monkey on my back". Instead, buffing liquids & pads are what I am always looking for the "best of" since that yields a hard, tangible, quantifiable gain for me = less time dancing around a car chasing imperfections!

It's funny how threads around here die and and receive little to no attention for weeks and then once in a while the stars allign and POW you see eight pages of dialog in one or two days. lol

Well said Jason. I have a bunch of CG items. I enjoy most of them.I give those folks great credit for what they do and how they market their products.Back to original post, will I buy the new Lava? Probably not. It looks cool. However, over the years in my small hobby/business gone insane. I have found what works, for me and customers(not a cheap or easy experiment) Over the past 20+ years of detailing do I wish I had all those dollars back from testing out the new and best? Nope. Thats part of my obsession and what I am as a detailer. I LOVE trying new stuff! Money is tight with my customers and I like MAKING money more than spending. Besides.I roll a lifted silver Jeep. Its not exactly worth running out and buying the next greatest wax/sealant in the world. Ill have six more vehicles by the time I run out of what I use now!LOL

I got my Pot of Lava This Friday. I was one of the detailers on the "First Batch" list along with "Detailed By Vinny" and "Marc Elsworth"

I might shoot a Pic and post it up. CG did a great job on designing the label. Really a step up. Looks nice On my desk!!!
