OK, I spent hours online trying to find what I consider MY ultimate wash implement, and no one makes what I want. Your all big boys and girls, free to make your own decisions. I read plenty of articles and one stuck out in my mind the quote was "The grout sponges that are all the rages in the forums".

Maybe you ought to give this article a read before you decide it's better to go backwards in improving your techniques.

I think most people will stick with Lambswool. Good luck to you.

    What I want:

I want a deep pile sheepskin, about 9 x 9 inches. With a 1-2 inch sponge sown inside. No cuff. This is a PAD, Because I and too many others use the sheepskin mitts as a pad. You get tired of always putting one of these on so you don't need the thumb hole. Actually that means it's always used on one side with the thumb and placed on your hand.

The closest I can find is the Adam's wash pad. Which is on sale at Ebay Motors now with free shipping for all Adam's products for the next 24 days.

I had better call the cops back and tell them to go back to the Krispy Kreme.

However, not all grout sponges are created equal and although they may have a flat surface, they have something that the wool mitts do not, pores. In the case of the Proline, these pores are quite large and they absorb the grime into the sponge keeping it off the paint. Wool is also naturally abrasive, although it does get soft with water.

Theory is nice, but you also cannot ignore the empirical evidence provided by the users of grout sponges.

Absolutely! The proof is in the pudding. The Proline is still the only medium that has not induced any marring on my paint. We have to use what works for us individually.
