I was doing paint correction on this VW jetta that has been repainted. I wan trying to remove this RID, paint reading on it was 345 microns, after each wet sand pass, I took readings. I removed about 30 microns and hit it with Meg 105 & wool pad. and this is what I got..... * tape was in place for focus some feedback please!! Thank you
Then yes, I would say that's a strike-through. You have to be extra careful when working with resprayed panels. Even though PTG readings will be high, its not safe to say that you will have a large amount of clear to work with. Say you cut your original readings in half, which theoretically would be 2 separate "layers" of primer/base/clear each. Then you have approximately 170 microns to work with, theoretically of course. But there's no way to say for sure how much clear was sprayed on the respray. Bottom line, always be extra careful with respray areas if you aren't experienced with wetsanding.
