    Hi DB

I got a quote on INS for my new company. The annual prem is $1065. most of it's General Liability costing $666. If Im mobile, not a garage, would I neeed General Liability INS? and Garage Keepers is at $30,000 coverage, $250 dec, costing $355 annual. If I don't need General Liability, then I of course raise the garage keeper INS.

    TIA

I work almost exclusively out of my garage at home, and my Liability is very close to yours in price.. I just ask myself - what if a Client drops off a vehicle, picks up a vehicle, stops by for some reason, and trips, falls, etc., on my property and is mean enough to sue me? Yeah, that's why I keep paying that G/L coverage..
Think about how many Clients step on your property in the course of business, and decide what you would do if something happened to them. Im wondering if some States require you to have it anyway, when they issue you a Business License...
Good Luck with your new venture !

Yes, they can trip and fall on their own property and its on their dime, unless they choose to sue the manufacturer of whatever they tripped over, etc., :) but if YOU fall on their property, then their Homeowner's insurance may have to pay for your medical injuries, etc, so you see how it works ? :) Everyone carries some sort of Liability, even on your car insurance, so that you are covered in case someone goes to court and the court finds your Libel (it was your fault) for their whatever...

Mine was at one time, general 1400, garage was at about 400, tahoe, trailer, and umbella 400 a month. I was insured up. Not somuch for the client but the other dumbasses on the road.

honestly I recomend at least carring enough to cover 80% of the value of your highest median car. For me that was 5 series bmw/e series merc/a8 audi. about 75k.

    Tahoe had 500/500 250/250, 50pip and a 1 mil umbrella

also if you are mobile, what is your work vehicle insured at. even if you only use it 10% of the time. They will deny every claim, medical or otherwise if you are using it in a work function in any way. Put it under your comercial policy. If you own a home get a commercial umbrella to protect against that. If you own a home your business should be an LLC and be separate in every way.

Im only doing detailing part time...I use my car which its insured for commute to my current job site. which its also happen to be where Im detailing at ( dealerships ). They're insured of course and im a employee with the dealership, so im covered. so in other words, I think im covered from general liability, not quite sure about garage ins... My plan is prep new cars and clean up used cars for them etc

LOL if you believe that the, I'll sell you the GW bridge.

Unless you have a policy stating exactly that, then you have exactly the coverage stated in your policy.

State Farm is $1300 for me. 1 mil policy and 15 g for garage keeper.... no thanks.

so far the most affordable commercial ins is Liberty mutual. that my bank wells-fargo set me up with. The guy even told me from the start that its the cheapest he found for my business. now I kinda believe him.

now its basically $100 per month. 1 mil policy / 30 g garage keepers
I estimate $600-$1000 gross per month / not using any of my products.

    would anyone do this?
