Tonight after work I did a maintenance wash on my Cosmic Blue Mazdaspeed3. New products used: Detailer's Domain "Uber" Genuine Wool Wash Mitt World's Greatest Boar's Hair Wheel Brush Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss (thanks Gemini13!) First off, I apologize for not having any pics. I was racing against sunset to have my car cleaned before going to the track tomorrow after work. Wheel wells got P21s TAW via USPlastics pump sprayer and the wheels got a pre-soak shot of Adam's Car Wash via Gilmour Foam Gun. Wells agitated with black shmitt and wheels got some virgin lovin from the new Boar's Hair wheel brush. The wash solution I used for the wheels to dunk the boars hair brush in was 0.5oz of CWG in 2 gallons of water. The rest of the car was given a pre-soak with the remaining Adam's Car Wash solution in the foam gun and I mixed another 0.5oz of CWG to 2 gallons of water in another bucket. Adam's pre-soak was not rinsed off. My car really wasn't that dirty but I wanted to get an idea of how the single layer of Purple Haze was holding up. First off, I don't know how I've lived without having a boars hair wheel brush. Since the wheels have a DG601+105 combo layer on them, the brush just swiped away the dirt and brake dust buildup with ease. Even though the thin spokes of my wheels caused some splatter, it was a very nice experience using the brush. I felt like I was giving my wheels a nice treat and there was no need to break out the Swissvax Wheel Brush. The only con was the slight smell of a wet animal. I checked my pits and verified is wasn't emanating from me. Now that the wheels and wells were done, it was time to justify the sacrifice of another living animal. When I first took the sheepskin mitt out of the fedex envelope, I was amazed at how soft it was. I kinda cuddled it to my face and promptly removed a ton of fibers from my face. Out came the Dyson Cannister vac and I vacuumed all the loose sheep hair out of the mitt. If I felt like I was giving my wheels a nice treat with the boars hair brush, I was absolutely SPOILING my car's paint with this sheepskin mitt. It's the perfect size for my hand and the amount of wash solution it holds is amazing. Honestly, I don't think a Shmitt or Ulti-Mit can hold a candle to this sheepskin mitt. The best word I can use to describe this thing is luxurious. I'm very glad that I recently bought 2 from Phil on accident. It's the perfect maintenance wash tool in my opinion. Unless my car is very dirty, I have no desire to use my Shmitt, Schmitt GS or Ulti-Mit. Not much to say on the CWG...it did its job. I'm not sure if a half ounce in two gallons of water was too much or too little. By the time I was drying the car (CRSpotless PPM meter was showing 48-51 ppm last time I used it), it was already too dark to judge the gloss. I'm pretty sure whatever beading on the car is caused by the DG105 and there's no Purple Haze left after a few weeks; my car is in the direct sunlight pretty much all day, 5 days a week. With the deluges we've experienced here lately, I think the Purple Haze is completely gone. My Buy one Get one Pinnacle Crystal Mist arrived on the porch today and I'll be giving the car a wipedown with it before heading out to the track. I can't wait to make a fool of myself, again, at the track. Launching a turbo fwd car is an exercise in futility. Anyway, thanks for reading and sorry again for no pics.

Thanks and you're welcome! I think you'll be VERY happy to have it in your arsenal. I forgot to say that I also used the boars hair brush on the rear bumper, right behind the wheels. I made sure to flood the brush with water before swapping from the wheel wash solution bucket to the body panel wash solution bucket. I was so impressed with the sudsing action that I would seriously consider getting a larger boars hair brush to use for my ONR washes in the winter.
Thank you for your review Ozzy! I have that exact same boar hair brush and I too agree that it is definitely amazing. I've never tried the Uber wool mitt but it sounds like it's a winner. So I'm curious, what 1/4-mile times are you getting? What's your average trap speed? The fastest I've ever did was 14.9 on slicks and 15.4 without in my Integra LS. My trap speeds were typically between mid to high 80s.
Well, I've only done 2 runs in the MS3. First one was just pathetic if you compare it to what some of the magazines have been getting. I believe it was a 15.4 @ 96mph. Get this though...my 60' was like a 2.6 or 2.7!!! I was racing a WRX (not an STI). He absolutely destroyed me outta the hole but as soon I hit 3rd, I reeled him back in and beat him by like 0.04 sec. He was PIST, LOL. Second run was a bit better...14.9 @ 96mph (again I think, was too depressed to keep the timeslips). This is running the stock 215/45/18 RE050 tires on 18x8 Rota P1s. As soon as I obliterate those at my next DE track day, I'm gonna look into slapping some 245/40/18s on there. :headbang: There's no way I'd run slick on my car...the split second they grabbed my transmission mount would disintegrate and my engine would be left on the track a couple of feet past the staging line. I'm hoping to get at least a 14.5 @ 100mph tomorrow night. Which reminds me...I need to go load up the latest map on my Cobb AccessPort and flash my ECU.
Hehe, you're still new to the game then! :headbang: I've kind of lost track as to how many times I've run mine but I know it's over double digits. In all my times I was running with open headers and a fully-stiff suspension (Skunk2 coilovers on Koni yellow adjustables, front and rear Spoon strut tower bars, and Skunk2 front camber arms). I too myself was a little hesitant to run slicks on my car. A friend of mine just bought them that day at the track and insisted I put them on since he was surprised at my track times with street tires. I was worried my axles would snap or I'd rip through the teeth in the tranny (I've done it on my friend's 2002 WRX and boy did it cost a lot to get fixed). Of course back then my fastest on street tires was a measely 15.9 seconds, yuck. I'm actually getting interested in doing it again but the economy sucks right now and I don't have much money at the moment, LoL. I can't wait until school starts so I have some financial aid money to play with. :headbang: Oh man Ozzy, I'm dying for our car forum! LoL! I think we should just name it Auto Bliss already, haha.
Ya, still new to the game. I have about 5 runs under my belt with my 00 Mustang GT, but the last time I ran that thing was back in 2001 or 2002. Best run was 14.3 @ 99mph. Holy heck you should have seen me at the track last month. Hundreds of people around, didn't go through tech right, didn't get into the correct lane for tech, got the order of tech before armband wrong...it was a mess. We're getting a car forum?!?! How did I miss this?

LOL If there's anything I'm devoutly against, it's rice. My second run in my MS3 I lined up against an older Civic Si with a fart can, tacky bling bling rims, etc. He and his buddies were poppin their hoods, checking out their intakes, whatever. We lined up and I seriously think I made him cry. What's a little over 2 seconds in car lengths? He was so slow what he was able to turn off at the first exit, which you really shouldn't do, especially if you're in the far lane. Oh Gemini, I've been "trying" to get rid of my 'stang for over a year and a half now. There's just something about a Magnaflow x-pipe and borla catback on a Ford V8 that makes it hard to let go. :headbang: The amount of CWG you gave me is gonna last me a while methinks!
I've always been a sheepskin fan and exclusive user untill my new house. My driveway is covered by a HUGE Deodara Cedar (needles) and I forget what the tree is... but it's HUGE too and it drops little fuzzy pods. So, regardless of what I'm doing, I'm always having crap drop on me. Year around. The sheepskin picks this stuff up and traps it in the weave. Impossible to get out. Nice thing about the Shmitt is I can check it after every swipe and easily pick stuff off of it. It releases stuff so much easier. Just something to keep in mind.
One word reefer: CHAINSAW!!! :lol: That would honestly drive me to the straightjacket. I'm glad that the pollen sticks that fall on my driveway only do so for maybe a month out of the year. Washing the car during that month is the definition of exercise in futility. You do bring up an excellent point; one that I actually thought about when dunking the :sheep: mitt in the rinse bucket for the first time. The pile on Phil's mitt seems shorter than I remembered others to be, at least compared to my memory of a sheepskin mitt from back in the late 80's/early 90's. I'm just happy to have yet another tool in my arsenal with which I'm completely satisfied. Thank you Phil! It means a lot to me coming from you.
How big is this sheepskin mitt that makes it cost 25$? If it's a regular size mitt, why does it cost 25$? I get the one from detailed image sheepskin mitt and it's about 9$, and ultra ultra soft. I have always loved sheepskin mitt.s
Yeah, nice review, MadOzodi. Makes me think you should be writing romance novels or something the way you were talking about loving your wheels and all. The boar's hair is definitely worth the investment. With P21s wheel gel and the boar's hair, I can get some nice suds going on my Allroad double spoke wheels. They were a real PITA to clean before because of all the nooks and crannies on them. The long, soft bristles really makes a difference.
Tried Pinnacle Crystal Mist last night after initially using ONR at QD dilution ratio. While I didn't really use it to clean off any dirt/dust/birdbombs, it had a nice scent and left a slick finish and a subtle increase in gloss over the ONR. Not as slick as AW or even the WG Instant Detail Spritz. Only reason I picked this stuff up was because of the Buy One Get One offer over at AGO. I would never have bought it otherwise. Unfortunately, I didn't think until afterwards to try and compare it to SC Speed Demon Wax Detailer.
