looking to upgrade but cant decide between these 3 . i need the one thats the eastest to use. and the touch screen has large lcd keys not tiny ones.. thye all do the same thing i know just need help deciding.. thanks guys any help would be great...
I have had the Iphone4, Captivate, and the 3gs....... I prefer the Iphone4 for ease of use, and overall size, plus it is a very clean looking design, but due to some signal issues I am currently using a captivate, Im waiting to see what the Iphone 5 has to offer, I may swtich back. I like both OS, the android is far more customizable, and the screen is bigger, but Ill be honest. The Iphone4 Keyboard is more accurate IMO and My experince with both. I would check with folks you know who have Iphones to see if they have any issues with signal strength,even with a bumper and various cases I had signal issues primarily at home, and I have a tower 300 yards from me. But Im a fan of both.
as far as the interface ease of use, iphone wins hands down. Android is more technical overall, however Samsung Fascinate does have quite a nice screen. Large key wise, they should be the same but I have found iPhone's touch screen to be more responsive than my HTC Magic (or G2 or myTouch3G) which was running android 1.6 (its on 2.1 now but i dont use it anymore)
Both are good phones. I would buy a phone based on the computer use at office and home. The reason being compatibility between formats. I use a berry as my phone and have macs at my office and home. They just don't get along too well. If i did it again i would have prob. bought the iphone.
iPhone 4 hands down, as much as I love Andriod, simply put its not polished or refined enough. It still has hiccups despite the speed of the device. The good thing about the iPhone is the OS and hardware are in house and matched together so that it can be efficient and quick with it. The landscape keyboard and autocorrect help with typing with big fingers. And the marketplace of apps is not fragmented. And Apple will support the iPhone with future OS releases for another 2 years im sure, so you dont feel too outdated. Overall, ease of use and daily usability go to the iPhone and it just looks damn sexy! But hey, if you still cant decide, try them all out and see which you like best.
Forgot to add... iPhone 5 in the summer June I believe as always so buying now is sorta mid-cycle, so unless you need to, buy it, otherwise try your best to wait.
i dont need it i have currently the samsung galaxy multimedia phone. its great dont get me wrong but i like the apps these smart phones have. i want to hit up the forums ect. but cant with mine..
I would wait..... see how the Iphone network on Verizion shapes up, right now you cannot multi task on the iphone with Verizon which is a huge issue to me. No looking up directions etc. on the phone? Check out Cnet, I would wait till the summer if you are verizion too see if these issues are addressed and fixed as Verizon claims they will be. Im not biased towards either phone. But my biggest gripe about the driods are this (and Ive had the first driod, the X, and now the captivate and they all did this) they stall out and freeze and I have to hard boot my phone multiple times a week its annoying, but I deal with it. Unlike the Iphone, the droids tend to leave apps running which kills your battery power so having a app killer is a neccacary. Im actually thinking of getting another blackberry, I never had issues in 12 years with blackberry's crashing, signal issues etc. Check out Cnet, check out the reviews on network reliablity etc. And avoid fanboy attitudes. LOL OH yeah....... BIG BIG plus for me with the Iphone. If you have an issue you can deal direct with apple at an apple store, and 9 times out of 10 they will hand you a new phone. I had 3 Iphone4s in 6 monthes for various tech issues. Dead pixles, wifi issues etc. I have always been very happy with thier in house tech service. BUT, im with ATT and most corp. stores will do the same of non Iphone products as well.
apps running that i dont want id rather have a phone that shuts them down. so i phone does have the app killer?
yes, automatically they will close them...... my battery on my captivate lasts me about a day and a half. Thats my other gripe. Im probably going to get a blackberry torch. I miss a tangible keyboard honestly. Im a phone junkie lol...... but yes, overally I would wait till june or july for the rollout of the new iphone5, Not sure if Verizon is getting the 5, but they will have the network issue worked out by them with the CDMA, and have them swtiched to the gsm set up.
iPhone apps goes to sleep state when you "quit" it and will still be able to push notifications if theyre in that state. You need to kill the app by double clicking home to truly exit it. Not that having it in sleep mode makes battery performance any noticably worse. Androids will run the applications in the back background until you kill it. So think of it this way, the multi tasking in iphone is simply putting apps in reduced state when not in use while multitasking in the android and windows mobile is running it in the background at full blown state. Both have its goods n bads but really if you've closed it, you dont want it to be sucking up your battery lol
Battery life on the Iphone4 is far better though then the captivate......... im constantly looking for my charger LOL. Id go play with different phones, i think you will end up liking both for different reasons.
my cuz has the i phone 3 and hates it . says its good for games but the phone part sucks. but im asuming its the att carryer. so im not going to take her opinion. id rather here u guys. so far it looks from what ive read i phone is up there!!!
that was one of my issues of why i swtiched, outside of the great features of the Iphone4, i found the phone part to be lacking. Here is what I experinced. As said I am very close to a tower, my wife had a 3gs and I had my I4, she would have 3-4 bars and I would have 1 or nothing...... Both had the current OS upgrade, so IMO and experince for me atleast it was an issue with the phone, and most people will say that as well, not explicitly the network. Ive been with ATT since they were cellular one, and never had alot of signal issues until the iphone4. Out side of the "toy aspect" of the apps, both phones function very nice but as noted the OS of the captivate gets stickey sometimes. But i have not had a dropped call or signal issues with my captivate.........
iphone is definitely the best choice in terms of ease of use and if you don't want to get technical with it then its your best choice. For me I wouldn't buy the iphone on verizon because I feel its a bit of a rip for yourself when the iphone 5 comes out in June/July, its only 4 months away and you can have the latest offering from Apple. I suppose you should ask yourself if you want the latest and greatest or are you content with whats currently offered. Also in regards to the task killers needed for android.. that is only valid for devices with version 2.1 and lower such as the Samsung Fascinate. Other devices like the Droid X are on 2.2 and if you use a task killer, the phone will just reopen it again, essentially wasting your more battery life. The droidx has a big nice 4.3 inch screen though, which would make typing easier, but with a bigger screen comes more battery draining. You could always buy a bigger battery though.
