Guys, I used poliseal for the 1st time yesterday with great results. I left all my pads to soak overnight in a bucket filled with snappy clean solution and hot water. I'm trying to get them clean right now and I'm having a hard time removing the poliseal residue. Should I use something stronger (like power clean)? Are these pads "ruined" after using poliseal? Can I use them for other polishes? They are blue ubers which I tend to use with 106fa and 85rd. TIA, G
same thing happened to my uber blue, I used the meg apc with my steamer and its new again. I use my vx5000 to clean all pads, wax applicators, n brushes . I don't think you have a steamer, I say use very hot boiling water n soak it in that, but i dunno if that will damage the pad or not.
3ozs of Power Clean in a 5 gallon bucket filled with hot water did the trick. Thanks for all the suggestions!!
seams that i have issues removing sealants form pads , i have just been getting them decent with zep citrus and once dry putting them in zip locks and using them only with that sealant
on a side not i have not been super impressed with poliseal yet...except for on a set of wheels i tried it on.. i have used on paint with a green uber pad...what is your technique?
I use an APC and pad conditioning brush immediately after i'm done applying a sealant. This usually works very well. I only soak the pads after in apc and hot water if some of the sealant is stubborn. I find it easier to remove sealant from pads when the sealant is still wet on the pad.
I liked it a lot. It saves time and it gives a nice look. It doesn't have a lot of cutting ability (even on honda paint) but it picked up some contaminants even after an Iron Cut treatment and a claybar rub. You save some time by not having to tape trim and wash after polishing. I liked how slick the paint was after using it. I think it's great for DD's that people just want them to look nice without doing a full paint correction. I used it on a blue uber pads and worked it like a regular polish. 1-2 minutes per pass.
poli seal stains pads like crazy. I guess the trick as mentioned though is to soak the pad and spray it with some form of APC immediately after using it to help remove the sealant/polish etc before it has a chance to set in to the pad.
