Its pretty greasy, I would not do it...... that is my opinion. if you were to spray it on an applicator and apply as you would a dressing it may be ok. depends on what you are trying to accomplish I guess.

For a engine plastics application your best bet might be 303 aerospace protectant, or I one read on here about a product called motor-kote, whichever is more readily available and cost effective. I use 303 works like a charm

    M3ride. Wax on..Wax off

    Isn't that a little unsafe?

If you want to make the engine compartment and engine really shiny, then I guess it would work, but to me, it would look tacky, and exactly what the production/hack shops do to make dirty engine compartments look clean quickly with minimum detailing effort.

My idea is to make an engine compartment look as good or better than the day the vehicle was driven off the lot - clean, conditioned, and not smelling like burning oil, grease, etc... CG has their own version of a product for that, its a spray can called Back to Black, formerly Fade to Black. This product works great, lasts longer than most, and leaves it looking like Meguiars Hyper-Dressing, but without that great Meguairs smell..

I'd like to find the engineer that thought this was a good idea and blast him/her right in the chops!

I just give it a good spray, sometimes spray some apc and agitate with brush. A lot of sand and little pebbles seem to get inside it.

It is actually for good reason, the fabric material dampens sounds of rocks water etc.. to allow for a quieter ride.
