Not quite certain there Bryan but I'm assuming that Turpentine is some variant or alteration of Turpenoid.

Here is what Wikipedia says for Turpenoid/Terpenoid and Turpentine.

They will be related but Turpentine is a turpene. Terpenoids are different from a molecular point of view.

They may have similar characteristics. There are thousands of potential solvents to use. I'd stick to the basic ones as these are more popular for various reasons, but it's always fun experimenting.

Well it's the right colour when liquid :)

You'll find carnauba is a b1tch to wash up though... get it on utensils and containers and it doesn't come off easily ;)

Well, it hadn't cooled but I believe i will need more solvent and alot more oil in it. I am looking for a certain texture, although I was close on the first try it is not spreadable enough yet.

There is no pricing, you have to go through a distributor and they mostly deal in large volumes

Scott ...you can find 99.9% of the products on line if you search....you can find the oils like watermelon seed oil...coconut oil...waxes.....get scientific grade..more refined....

some waxes use a few oils like safflower oil..cantalope seed oil...watermelon seed oil...and so on...they are use as glossing agents and emulsifiers...to keep the wax workable along with the solvents....

That's exactly how I managed to get my stuff, I stayed away from exotic oils, you would be surprised what you can find at Walmart

Well I am happy with the results of try number two, it has the consistency and workability of what I am looking for. I did the fender of my truck and it was smooth as glass
