What's the purpose of a sprayer as opposed to a regular spray bottle? Coverage? Or saving product?

I'll go to HD or Lowes and get one myself for that very purpose to use a citrus degreaser or P21s TAW

I'd say both and add in consistency. Not to mention it's so much easier to just use your thumb to push down on the trigger. Anything to prevent the Carpal Tunnel!

    Yep yep. :headbang:

Uhh... don't remind me, LoL. Don't worry though, I have a feeling all the OTC sprayers will be returned but that's just a guess at this point. I did this with the intention of helping everyone else decide what's the best deal (price and quality) of sprayers so that everyone wouldn't HAVE to do this themselves, LoL.

For me, it's just a little more convenient to just hold down on the sprayer and apply away. I also feel there's a more even application (thinking about it, not from experience) since spray bottles generally are focused and application really isn't as even as these sprayers.

So I'll probably be stuck with two or three of these things, all being different brands (LoL), so now I just have to figure out exactly what I'm going to have assigned to besides the P21S Wheel Cleaner Gel. I suppose a proper degreasing mixture would be in order. I do have one complaint about these bottles... they take up a lot of space! I think having 3 of these things would be ideal and anything more may be too much, IMO.

So now this begs the question, HOW MANY pump sprayers does everyone use? Obviously need a TAW/whatever you use for wells sprayer. I was thinking of just pouring whatever ARO I have left directly into a 2nd pump sprayer. I'm trying to think what I'd need a 3rd one for.

Possibly for APC/Degreaser or Wheel Gel?

Hmm, I think there COULD be five or six things that you could have in those sprayers:

    - P21S Wheel Cleaner Gel for wheels
    - P21S TAW/APC/other degreaser for wheel wells
    - Adam's Undercarriage or CG Bare Bones for wheel well dressing
    - ARO or other product for tires
    - Other APC degreaser mixture for maybe bugs, tar, and sap (perhaps this is a tad redundant to the second one)
    - ONR clay lube mixture (I don't know about you guys and gals but I tend to spray this VERY generously)

I agree with the 1st 4 listed. The results of your pump sprayer comparo will determine my next 2 or so sprayers. I actually prefer using a spray bottle for my ONR clay lube; picked up some high volume sprayers from ADS.

I'm with Denzil on this one and will NEVER use a traditional sprayer again for clay lube. I use the handheld pressurized sprayer for clay lube and love it. I get plenty of lube and never worry about hitting a dry spot with the clay. And best of all no hand fatigue. I ordered 5 of the Solo ones that gmblack3 posted from Ebay and will let you all know how they work.

Thanks JL! I appreciate ya willing to chime in. :thumb:

We'll be looking forward to hearing your opinion on the Solos.

    Update 2:

I finally went over the links I posted and I noticed that a lot of them looked very similar to the ones that Ace Hardware has. Here is what I gathered simply from my observation of the sprayers and testing them mechanically without liquid products.

    Ace Hardware 1.42L
Looking at the Ace sprayer, it looks like an oh-k sprayer but it has no on/off feature for constant spraying. It's fairly decently constructed and seems like a solid product. However, there's a very slight bit of play in the pump handle but it's negligible. Its size is pretty spot-on but could be smaller, at least for me anyways. The grip handle on this thing is pretty comfortable considering it has finger grooves for all four fingers. Placement of the thumb trigger is perfect. Overall, not bad for OTC.

    Home Depot 1.9L
The Home Depot sprayer really is a cheap piece of crap. There's WAY too much play in the pump handle and there's definitely a possibility of it snapping off from rigorously pumping the sprayer. Believe it or not, it does have a plus though; it has an on/off feature for constant spraying (whoop-tee-do). Also, it just seems a bit too large for me. Anything larger than 1.5L is just too big. The grip handle is decent but is left in dust by its Ace Hardware counterpart. Overall, save your gas for something that's worth driving for.

    Lowe's
No description yet here but this item will be picked up later today.

    Solo
The 415 is probably the only comparable Solo sprayer to its competitors as far as specifications and looks-wise. At first I was hesitant at ordering this one since Solo has better offerings but since I'll be saving money (note information in Ditchek section), I figured I'd grab the 415 and 418.

    Ditchek
I looked at this product at the website again and i was :shead: and decided that it really wasn't worth paying $37.95 for a damn sprayer, LoL. Plus, on top of that, Solo has much more to offer based on its pricing and additional sprayer features. However, it will have a replacement. Its replacement shall be the Solo 419.

I know, I know... I had complained earlier about anything larger than 1.5L / 1.5QT was too big for me but with a 7" wand with a multi-directional nozzle, it's hard to beat. Who knows, maybe it'll grow on me and I won't let its size bother me.

Stay tuned for performance results once P21S and all sprayers are available and ready for testing!

Are you actually using TAW or another chemical to do your testing, cause i was thinking why not just use water.

I did get 2 Home Depot sprayers before you did your testing and i have to agree with you that they are crap. Very cheaply made and the spray pattern is not a very nice even spray. Ended up returning both. When the lady who took it back asked if anything was wrong with it, i wanted to say, "Ya it sprays like crap and looks like it will break on me."

Yeah I suppose I could use water but I'd rather test using the actual solution, in my case P21S Wheel Gel. Since I'm under the assumption that the P21S Wheel Gel is more viscous than actual water (and even TAW?), it'd be more realistic to find "actual" results rather than "near" results and observe the behavior of the sprayers.

Did you see the one I posted earlier, I have a couple of them and they are great, 25 dollars and the have a metal pumper. Durability is very good:headbang:

Below are a few pics of the US Plastic Full Function Pump Sprayer. It comes with a normal nozzle and the one pictured. Quality-wise, it feels better than the Big Lots sprayer that I have, except for the plastic pump rod. Also notice that there is no latch or button for continuous spray.

Looking good, I was thinking of the Full Function over the Spray Mist. The Spray Mist is sold for the same price at TOL, so I bet the Full Function is made of really good material and very solid.

Ok, I went through WAY TOO MUCH TAW with the mist setting on that multi-attachment. And felt in the wells is a pain in the arse.
