Hi guys, anyone using Gtechniq products? its pricey for their glass, trims and wheels coat protection ... i hope to hear some reviews who been used it ... I wish to add C2 crystal liquid (i think like sealant?) and C3 smart carnauba cheers ahwil
Dont see many people using it here as its not a well known product. I have been looking at there glass coating and paint sealant. But right now I am looking at making my own version of the glass coating with the help of my dad, chemical engineer. Over on Detailing World they are a sponsor and people have used it and posted up reviews and comments.
They are a UK based mfg Nanotechnology polymers [: the study of the controlling of matter on an atomic and molecular scale. Generally nanotechnology deals with structures of the size 100 nanometres or smaller in at least one dimension] [1] Nanotechnology refers to the study, creation and application of molecular materials with a particle size that is typically less than one nanometre (nm) is one billionth, or 10−9, of a meter. By comparison, typical carbon-carbon bond lengths, or the spacing between these atoms in a molecule, are in the range 0.12–0.15 nm. The significance of a polymer nano-coating is that is can form a very tight bond with the surface of most materials; including glass, paint, plastic, rubber, aluminium, chrome, stainless steel, fabrics, and leather will have surface imperfections i.e. peaks and valleys, micro-fissures when viewed under high magnification. These undulations allow a nano-coating polymer to form a tight molecular bond with the surface it’s applied to. 1. Nanotechnology polymers form a very tight matrix chain-link structure, which forms both a very strong bond and one that is not easily breached by chemicals or detergents. 2. This type of polymer coatings with its small particulate size are much smaller than those of water; making them hydrophobic (water resistant) 3. Due to their size they fill any surface irregularities (micro fissures) which results in a flat surface, one that reflects light without hindrance G-Techniq together with Bayer and BASF has devised a new coating P1 nano composite polish that can be applied to paintwork. It uses nano-technology polymers that bond with the paintwork forming a tough, transparent protective coating over the body of a car (or boat or jumbo jet). Applied too thickly it actually crystallises into a very hard rough crust – a useful demonstration of the nature of the product. Paint Refinishing System - http://bit.ly/7RSj0u
Yes - it turns into a plastic when left in a jar that gets air. I like the idea, marketing, and the product. Just still in the "durability" testing phase. I'm not like these other clowns that wash and re-apply every chance I get, then post how I get 6 months durability on a product. :deadhorse:
Jon what do you personally think of these new nano-tech polymers that form these surface shields? I have visions of the product cracking off and flaking much like a thin layer of ice would! Edit to add: Having looked at the PDF you posted Jon it appears as if the polymers fill in the swirls, etc making the clear coat whole again as opposed to being a fresh new layer sitting on top of the clear coat...Looks very interesting!
The pdf is for their P1 polish, not the C1 sealant that crystallizes if left open to the air. The G-Techniq product is one of the new types of sealant that are popular in asia right now, and so far as I know they are silicon silicates. This is not new technology, it's been used to make concrete sealers for years. Guess someone found out that you can put it on paint too. Durability is reported to be no better than amino functional sealants.
It's a similar product to Optimum (Opti-Coating) I've only used it once (a sample) easy to apply, its only a month old so durability for me is an unknown. The guys on DW think it's brill as do the Asian guys that post on MOL
The UK guy do seem to like this. That Asian fellow with the water injected rotary seems to base his life off of it! I'll wait until March 2010 and see what I end up with. It was pricey, but if it works, its cheap.
First product from Gechniq was the famous G1 glass coating. Now the first year is over and I´m VERY satisfied with the G1. On more than 5 cars I have used it to protect the windshields. The beading is perfect up to 70 km/h and its lasts and lasts for and year now. Its the best glass sealant I have ever used. Then I use the trim coat. Its just great, but you have to refresh the coat after 5-6 washes. Beading is very good. The g3 is also very fine, I use it to protect my shower, house windows and all the things inside of the house, my wife loves it too. Finally, I can highly recommend the products of Gtechniq, first of all the G1.
I didnt order G1, but G3 & G4. I think G3 offers the water repellent & dirt as well ... It could last up to 5months ... I hope it isnt just a gimmick marketing lol ... eagerly to try some of their products ... like C1, C2 & C3 ... however, its really pricey products. ...
Really pricey, but you cant get perfect results with cheap products as well... The g3 is very good, but has not the durability of G1. You should use it in your house too, your wife/girlfriend will love it too..
Bulla, since you live in Germany, the home land of many nano tech products. Why are you buying them from England? I am sure that you can find many cheaper and products who is good as G1. Res-Bona are awesome.
Tried some of so called Nano products from here, but nothing is as good as Gtechniq, G1 its the best.
