As was announced Nov 4th 2009, the Dodge Vipers last model year will be in 2010.

Only 484 will be made for the 2010 model year.... The build will start in March 2010 and will go straight through (excluding holidays) until all 484 are built...

Regardless if you like the vehicle or not one thing that is undeniable is that it did make a statement!

That's sad ... Jason, has Chrysler stated anything regarding the Viper facility? I read a few months ago that Chrysler was thinking about selling the Viper name and the facility to a billionaire Viper collector.

No official word yet... I agree it is sad!

I just got a letter emailed to me from the Senior VP of Purchasing and the Senior VP of Supply Chain and they made no mention of it coming back in 2012??

I have also heard that they are coming back with a new model in 2012. That is if Dodge is still in business. The Gen IV Viper is a great car. I've been thinking about picking one up or a Ford GT.

So is it safe to say that if the Viper re-appears in 2012 that its the second coming of Christ and it will save us from mass destruction?

From what I've heard it won't be anything like the current Viper. It won't be a 100% hot rod but will come back as a luxury type of sports car. At least the rumors I'm hearing.

luxury? hmmm, I'm guessing a beer cooler inthe center console, and nut massagers built into the leather seats.

I've always liked the viper. Not enough to buy one, but have thought they would be a blast to test drive.

That wouldn't go over with the Viper crowd at all.

It's all hearsay so who really knows for sure.

Here is a quote from an article I was reading,
"The 2012 replacement will apparently be completely different to the old-school model as it will be built in collaboration with Fiat. The Fiat partnership will obviously do the brand well as, uhmm, Fiat has some cool friends like, Ferrari."

Where the heck do they get these numbers? why 484? why not just round up and make 485.

I bet the new Viper will have an option for nice sensible V6. An entry level model for the masses. I hope it gets 30 mpg!!!

I used to love the dodge viper, and would drool every time I saw one in person. But that was when i was younger and didn't know any better...lol. They are beasts and from what i've heard, a hand-full to drive even in ideal conditions. In 1992 they had a great impact on the scene, but today they don't come off as unique as they once were. They are fast, but i'd rather sacrifice speed for overall build quality, lets just say that the Vipers interior was something left to be desired.

With that said, I'm more into building something really fast, than buying something fast. Small displacement + Force Induction + Lightweight = Exotic car owner tuckin their tails.
