Just wanted to say this... Despite what you may think, judging from my screen name, I am in no way affiliated with this guy lol

 

I wanted to warn you, but like the "Polished Bliss" situation I felt it might be meddling in your business.............. glad to see you have "Seen the LIGHT" as in Rich Light lol, when someone is a pathelogical liar(In my humble opinion of course) they will do the same things over and over again.

He would say some stuff to us(Bing, Dave and I) and we would compare notes and it was always "Lucy,,,you have some splanin to do..." and he would give too much info which could be fact checked(Which I did.......like I also did with crazy Andy/Got Wax) and stuff would unravel "with the quickness".

I even found out some stuff when Rich was in New England in his younger years in the biz, but cannot vet the stories 100% or I would post that as well, I am suprised I have not got the call or text................."I am going to knock your teeth down your throat" but Bing and I confronted him @ SEMA last year and let's just say "That dog didn't hunt" because his fictional Martial Arts background did not jive with my real one.....and he knows it.

It amazes me how many shady folks walk the streets these days, no honor at all and low testosterone levels preclude "Tall tales" to make themselves out to be more than they are, I am not perfect by any means and regret things in my past like anyone........... but with all my aggressive internet banter you will notice it is defensive in nature and I always treat others with respect and kindness when applicable.

Hopefully Rich will now go away for good and operate his shop with "Undocumented workers" that he pays a pittance and fade away.

BTW the foam pads he designed are "American Buffing" dummy left the box out and "The Bing" saw it and called me right away.................and I replied "you are suprised by this??", so American buffing would probably be suprised as well with this statement................does the lies ever stop by this guy................."Chordness...............aka Mingness" on display at all times.

 

I will do a full write up on all of the shit he told me and all of the lies and what not this evening..

Bob, I have had many of our own supply customers mention some of the EXACT same things you are talking about - this was beyond mind boggling. I think we generally all agree there are certain people who have a sharpness about them that can cut right through a line of bullsmack, but it blew me away when customers approached me and asked my information on the situation(which was relatively limited aside from the poor experiences I had personally with the products).

I must say, its surprising, although all too common that certain people conjure up such a facade that they become so enveloped in it and sometimes I think believe it is true. False info/mis-information/ and simple regurgitation without objective documentation is one of the things that really just rub me the wrong way.

And although I have had zero personal interaction with the owner or the company, I can tell you from all the customers we had come to us, in general dissatisfaction with the CS or the products, I can tell you I was instantly soured.

I think we all appreciate the "match" of everyones information and I can only apologize for another business owner for such crappy business practices.

 

For all of those who are resellers of GI and no longer wish to be affiliated with "MING"

I suggest you contact him and tell him to remove your contact info from his reseller page. I did this as sson as I made my decision to cut my ties with him.

He still has at least six resellers on there that have not dealt with him in more than a year.

He will do anything to make his company appear larger than it really is.

This guy has serious insecurity issues.:crasy:

 

Where to begin... I came across Gloss It through a friend of mine in Dallas so I figured I would try it out, I spoke with Rich over the phone a few times we discussed the "class" if you want to call it that. I ended up coming out there to help him work the Sema Show with my employee at the time. The only reason I went to the class was because I was soon moving back to LA and he said he would have me a million people to paint correct for as Detail Addiction stated earlier. While at the Sema Show he told Justin and I that he was going to have a problem later that day we had no idea what he was talking about. Then Bob and Richie showed up to the booth, Justin and I didn't know what was going on but I remember Rich saying I told them to meet me in the parking lot and just kept going with it lol. Needless to say the class wasn't really a class and a complete waste of money, he rarely came out of his office to check up on the cars we were doing. It was mainly come work for Rich and watch him make money while Justin, myself, and his employees Omar and Juan did all of the work. We did a BMW 3 Series, a Range Rover, and on the last day we were supposed to have a Lamborghini but he couldn't come up with it so he gave Justin and I this girls car that he was seeing at the time and was like haha you guys correct this and I'll be getting all of the rewards from it. He left us there till 11 at night by ourselves to finish the car funny part about it is there was a certain area on the passenger door that had dog scratches all over it the Extreme Cut was not making a dent in any of them and I wasn't about to wetsand this car as I was beyond pissed at this point but figured I would be professional about the situation. I called Brian over at Detail Werkz and was making a joke with him about mailing me some Megs and Menzerna cause his stuff wouldn't work. I didn't do the 2,500.00 reseller of his products at that point in time. However he non stopped bothered me about it from November all the way till March at least three times a week, stating I have people who will buy it all day long in LA. I did the 2,500.00 buy in as he made it seem like I had to do it to get clients in LA from him. One of those you " scratch my back and i'll scratch yours" kinda deal. Needless to say I haven't received one car or anyone wanting to buy this shit I have it sitting around never being used I will be more than happy to mail the 32 ounces of Signature Gloss that I never have used since I left the class, or any other products for that matter. As far as he stories go he would tell me one story and then Brian another and my buddy Andrew another. The first car I did when I arrived in La was a 458 in the pics I took were Menzerna and Swissvax no Gloss it. He blew me up for a good day and a half saying we have to talk I'm not happy with what I see. When he couldn't get ahold of me he then called Andrew, Andrew flat out told him that his products don't work and Menzerna is better, his reply was " I have done 6 458's it works trust me" after asking his employee about the 6 458's he had no idea what I was talking about as he hadn't seen any 458's. Like everyone else has stated I can go on for days but to show you an example of how pointless his lies are I'll give you one I had a great laugh about. As many of you know Premier is the place to go for clear bra whether it be Northern or Southern Cali they are putting out the best quality of work in my opinion, I told Rich that I was doing a car for Chris @Premier his response was "Oh I have 2 cars in my shop right now doing a new clear bra because Chris didn't do it right and they know I'm the best" a couple of days later I asked him how the clear bras turned out and he literally forgot that he had told me that story. Just goes to show what kind of business ethics he has. Long story short I wouldn't recommend getting involved in the GI and it has done absolutely nothing but cause problems and tension for me from well respected detailers and he has so many enemies. Had I known a 5th of this shit before I went through it myself I would of never tried his products or dealt with him in any kind of way.

it's a real shame the guy is a tool because he "seemed" decent on the 2 trips i did with him... but after the 2nd i knew it wasnt for me! then shortly after i decided that, Richie and Jason Armstrong (previous adams guy) were gone too! along with Zammie!

And yea thats right Bob there was all kinds of crying and whining going on that Reno trip! oh well.. You live and you learn, i just hope the new people that look into his products read this first so they dont get banged like we did! thank God i didnt WASTE my money on that class... (which by the way it's funny, Bing and zammie and whoever else got the Sig Gloss after they took the class... i never took a class and he sent it to me!!!!)

 

WOW, I dont quite have the stories these guys do, but can back up the crappy situation BOB mentioned in dealing with Andy/Got Wax. I was roped up in it and will never buy or use a GI product because of shady business practices like this. I have since made a mend of the situation with the people involved, but at the same time, it leaves a sour taste knowing how someone can be so deceitful. Live and learn I guess

I also underestimated how widespread the GI crap goes. Pretty much every well-respected detailer I have ever heard of and know has responded here.
