so tonight was the start of me FINALLY being able to detail from a fixed location. those of you that didnt see in my last thread about the lighting, i do not have a garage at my house to work out of and have been working mobile for quite some time now. as you can imagine, lugging around all of my equipment and supplies in the back of my GTI was a little bit of a hassle. my parents have a nice big garage at their house, which they agreed to allowed me to "set up" in and to work out of. its a pretty large garage, with an epoxy coated floor, high ceiling, and crappy lighting (i'll be getting around to this...). i picked up some shelving and a plastic cabinet so i can get my collection out of the totes they've been living in. it feels good to finally after years have everything in a fixed place and organized. i still need to clean up the garage a little more and remove some of the clutter. oh and i have a little mini dorm room fridge that will fit nicely right next to my shelves for my LSPs. it'll be a nice change from all the beer it used to house when i was at school. things still need to be tweaked as im a little OCD, but hey, here's my start of this garage project: here's what i was working with before (lol): drawers for MF's and Pads: and the beginnings(for some reason in the pics it doesnt look like much, but theres a lot there...): Ardex Buster and New Wave, 3M Adhesive Remover, standalone halogen, misc Spray Bottles and Polishes: (CG Bug and Tar, Grime Reaper, Zep Citrus 5:1, Adams Carpet and Upholstery, P21S Wheel Gel, Detail Spray/Clay Lubes, Megs HD, Megs WB, Megs APC 10:1, Simple Green 10:1, Tarminator, Red Bull, IPA, Full Menz Line, Menz Top Inspection, 3M Compound and Finesse-It, Tape, Brinkmann) Cockpit Premium, Deep Plastic, Werstatt, Autoglym and 303 samples, Adams In and Out, Black Wow, Adams VRT, 1Z Gummi, SV Pneu, SV Cleaner Fluid, Gloss It Gloss Enhancer, leathermasters nubuck foam cleaner and protectant, stoners trigger and spraway, ozium, fabreeze automotive, uber clay, bilt hamber soft clay, clay magic clay, brushes, ashtray. thanks man. no i dont have any P21S red gel. which shelf are you talking about? you're probably talking about the Adams detail spray. expensive stuff, but it smells so good!
Yea, that's what I thought but I didn't see any other P21S on there. Definitely try out some 105/205 if you haven't yet. I really like them, they don't replace my Manz but they are a really, really welcome addition. It's nice being able to dictate the cut too rather than relying on the polish breaking down. BTW, I'm pretty much about to replace all my detail spray and clay lube with ONR, tried it as a clay lube and QD and man is that stuff nice. Cheap too, little bit of a weird smell but I don't really care.
Very nice sir, we all have to start somewhere when it comes to our fixed locations. Very organized for the most part, I admire that in a detailer..hard to believe some people are not.
thank you. that was the worst part about having to carry everything in those horrible totes. i basically would have to tear them apart to find one little bottle sometimes. now i know exactly where everything is every time.
yeah im planning on picking up some ONR myself pretty soon. ive never gotten around to getting some. i just dont see how it could be that great, but i'll try it anyways. im sure ill be impressed. now that i have my bilt hamber soft clay though, i'll be using mostly distilled water as lube for that as thats all it requires. and its by far my favorite clay now. some special yellow clay will hopefully be gracing my shevles in the next couple weeks too! thank you very much. i was thinking i wish i had more, and there probably is some more stuff i could use to better round out my arsenal, but for the most part, i have everything i need and a little more. almost everything i have there i use often, so im happy with that.
Looks great billy, nice collection as well..i think this will fit your needs better..get those customers in line now..and your set!
thanks. yeah i dont know what it is, but just having everything set up like this in a fixed position makes me sooo happy. now i can just walk up and grab what i need when i need it instead of rummaging through my totes. now the only drawback is i have to drive from my house to my parents if i have work or want to clean up my car, but oh well. haha you know i thought i had it pretty organized roger! any suggestions? thanks buddy!
i love my retro ash tray! totally 70's style. haha yeah i guess its an alright collection. i feel like it grows by the week. i try to keep it down to the essentials that i use often though. i dont have much that i wont use a lot, like some people have a bagillion different products. i know what works for me, and i stick to it. although i do like trying new things from time to time.
