I think I would feel the same way once I get my hands on one (flex).

I love my 3403 only 1 down side...wear ear protection. And I know about the speed setting of 1100, well I never used 600 on my makita anyway.

I will say the Flex has a great feel, and the thinner body is great as well... eh, we all prefer one of those dont we?:hippie:

You guys who are using lightweight machines for heavy correction work. Does the lightness of the machine make it more likely to skip and hop all over the car?

I'm thinking evil thoughts now, mostly because of Ankeet, so I blame him. I didn't realize that the 3403 was so reasonably priced. My brain tricked me into thinking it cost about $300, but I see now that I was thinking about the Metabo.

What's the going price for used Makitas?

I got my makita for a little over a hundred off of ebay, but that was probably because I was the only bidder. I haven't done any heavy correction with my metabo only with my makita, so I can't comment on that.

Paint hop comes from incorrectly holding the polisher, a stiff pad, and unclean clearcoat usually. I'm sure there more issues that some forum members can give. Lightness is good, since you don't have to use your arms as much. Lightness is bad though when you need weight to get the right amount of friction into the paint.

Ditto, 3403 at 230 isnt bad at all.
