I have been using the VD Decam system for 3 years now...When I recieved my truck..they did a decam wash on it..it is required by Ford...there is a service bulletin on it also....when I seen the before and after results I was sold ...I ordered a Kit that spring...

I have to say..its a nice system...I use it on my truck every spring after a winter thaw to remove all deep contaminants..after a wash it feels like it was just clayed..but I do clay after anyways..

its a nice add on feature also to a detail to any one with a nice high end car..it gets the paint just about factory fresh...

I have never had any adverse effects with it also..i use it on all parts of exterior...best bang is a gallon of all three products..

    acid neutralizer

    alkaline neutralizer and Detail wash...

Valugard makes some nice products...Thier Fast Finish spray is very nice also....and the trim products...

Anyways the ABC system is a must have system...it really works great.....

Al, How much contaminants do you get when you clay after using the system?

    Al-53 Welcome to Detailing

Very minumal...I compared to a straight claying to a clay after wash..and it was very noticable to how much the wash took off....the clay still grabs a few left overs ..but thats what the wash does,,it removes what it can and loosens what is left behind to be released easier with the clay...

    put it this way...

with out the wash I have to kneed the clay after a panel..maybe have to kneed more depending on the paint...

after a wash I can do 2-3 panels with little pick up on the clay...

GM..try the 16oz bottles first and make a evaluation..then you will be getting the gallons...lol

To all interested in this system...I would reccomend cool paint and in the shade...since you have a dwell time on this ...

If you have any questions on the system...call AutoInt...I did and got the whole low down and procedure..very nice people....If Ron ketch is still there..he will have you a expert on this just over the phone..great guy with TONS of info...

Ron (Grumpy) Ketcham knows more about detailing and products used than anyone I've met or read thus far (that's five decades) knowledgeable to say the least

I spoke with Tim today and have very little to add other than the 5 gal pail of the Detail wash is not the same as the 3 step process...it's designed to remove tar, etc, not the contaminants that the 3 step process does. I may have to give this stuff a go!

I also called and basically its a body solvent.

IT was a bad experience today trying to place an order.

The lady took 15 minutes just to input my name into the system, another 10 to look up the items, and then she didnt know if I could get free shipping or not because she didnt know the threshold, then she says she'll call me back. 15 minutes later she calls back and says free shipping at $100, so I ask how much is shipping she says she doesnt know, and I ask if theres a bulk discount if I buy a case and it takes her another 15 min to find out.....

I still have not ordered yet, I got to spend another $25 for free ship.....

Grouse is correct..it is available at Ford dealerships...they have a service bulletin that all new cars must be done with the system prior to delivery....I watched mine being done and that sold me....

Pretty sure you can get free shipping at AI, otherwise it's still cheap. AI system works, very few people see the entire benefit of it. Now if only it would work with ONR.

I called 3 Ford dealerships in the area last month, one being a large dealership. Talked to parts at each place, they did not have a clue what I was talking about.

I finally got a chance to use the full system on my beater. The white acura sits out 24/7 including 40 hours at the airport. I had not washed the car in about a month.

I followed the instructions on each gallon jug. After the last rinse, the paint was totally flat and showed not a sign of beading. I dried the car off and had it in the garage.

I rubbed my bare hand over the paint and it felt pretty smooth. I thought I could feel a light layer of bonded contaiments (bumps) on the paint. I retrived a thin sandwich bag to get a real feel of the paint. Sure enough I could feel some small bumps on the paint. I clayed a small area on the hood with some zaino clay. There was a noticable difference using the baggie test on the clayed and unclayed areas. With my bare hand I could feel a slight difference. It only took about 20 mins to clay the entire car.

I wish I would clayed a section before the wash to really see what difference the ABC system makes as far as bonded contaiments go.

So as Al noted you will still have to do some claying after using the system.

Looking fwd to using the system on a car with a lot of bonded contaiments.

I will try and add some pics over the next week.

GMblack3..the items go under the motorcraft name....not Auto Int...

here they are for future reference

    Acid Neutralizer

    Alkaline Neutralizer

    Detail Wash

yes..some times you do have to clay the stubborn stuff off..but the system goes deep pore cleaning..thats the most important part..clay just shears off the top stuff...does not get in the micro pores to clean them....

I just did my truck the other day...had just a few spots to clay....but came out nice...

    (B) Alkaline Neutralizer
•Using a clean dry sponge or wax applicator pad, apply alkaline neutralizer to all horizontal surfaces including roof, hood, deck lid, and the tops of the fenders and quarters.

    •Allow to dwell 5-7 minutes.
•Use detailer’s clay using the alkaline neutralizer as its lubricant
•Do not allow solution to dry on vehicle
