I've used both and was a Megs user when I bought my first gallon of SGS. The owner told me that at 4:1 SGS would make the Megs look like water even undiluted. Well you gotta prove that one to me so when I did my next detail I tried that very thing and he was right. So SGS at 4:1 was just as good a cleaner if not better than Megs APC straight.

I also had a very very very very (get the picture here) dirty white mini van to do one time. I decided for s&g's to put SGS in my foam cannon at a 3:1 mix. Man that stuff foamed up as good as any soap I have used and was a tremendous pre-cleaner for the whole van. When you consider the dilution advantages with SGS it also makes it more cost effective.

Ok I see a lot of things in your post that I really don't get:

    1. The SGS is an alkaline cleaner because it has a PH above 7, but it doesn't use any caustics to achieve the higher alkalinity which is the sheer beauty of the cleaner. It achieves this by using a type of solids as oppose to caustics.

    2. The SGS is on the website Super Green Stuff

    3. If you consider the size of their showroom a "small bedroom" I really want to see your house because damn that's got to be one monster of a home.

    From the Majestic web site:

Super Green Stuff cleans everything from floors to walls, rugs, and upholstery without alkalis, solvents or bleaches.

This is why I wondered when the label says "alkaline" cleaner. I will call tomorrow. They had gallon size Super Green Stuff (darker green more like the web site) but I figured it was an optical effect since I purchased a quart size. The labeling said do not allow to sit on mag wheels which is not consistent with what I wanted.

As for the showroom, it occupies a corner of a huge building. For what they carry, I do not know why they need a much bigger place at least for selling the chemicals so it was not intended to be a slam. It was spartan but functional...consistent with the low price approach. Maybe they have another section somewhere else but I did not see it.

I think they would have been better served in the description to say "without caustics" instead of alkalines. Since the PH is above 7 (and it has a high PH) it is an alkaline but does so without the use of caustics. I think they just used alkalines to mean caustics, which in a sense it does but would have made the description a little less confusing.

Also I have used SGS on everything from wheels (all types), to engines, to tires, to wells, to paint and it has done a great and safe job on all of them. Now to be honest I have never really known what "mag" wheels refers to. I see some use it to refer to regular ol' wheels and some for chrome wheels. If it means uncoated aluminum then not many cleaners out there are good or safe for that. If "mag" wheels means any type of wheel other than that I assure you SGS does great on it.

Also as a side note since the PH is so high then it is great if you need to use an acidic cleaner on your wheels first to get them clean. If you use an acidic cleaner on them first after you rinse you can go back and spray SGS on the wheels and it will neutralize any acid that might be left and will clean up any dirt you left behind. I've had a couple of sets of chrome wheels that the only thing that would clean them was wheel acid and when I did the first application and rinse I went back with SGS and have never ever had any problems.

Oh and I would also say that the showroom itself is every bit of 1000 sq. ft if not more so that's where my comment about comparing it to a small bedroom came from.
