Man this was a real fun detail. It is a lot more enjoyable when you are detailing with someone that you have fun with and they are just as hard core about detailing as you are. The only thing I hate is that I didn't get to see the final result. I told him I thought that Jetseal and RBs OE would really just knock it out of the park!

It was really hard to tell it was a repaint on the hood and passenger side until we put the paint gauge on it and got those high numbers. The repaint was also hard to correct. I got to use the 3M compound that Karl had and was quite impressed with it. I used it on an orange pad and then went to a polish that I was really really impressed with, Menz. Power Finish. That stuff had great correction ability for light swirling and marring and left an incredible finish. I used that with a white pad after the 3M and it cleaned everything right up. After that it was on to the Menz. 85rd which just finished it off and left a finish that we were both happy with. Truthfully when I started on it I didn't think we would be able to achieve the results we did but was quite happy that we were able to.

The wheels were a real job as well because they were easily the worst wheels I have ever worked on. The brake dust was unreal and then the stains from that goop that looked like it leaked out of the valve stem made them extremely hard to work on. Couple that with the fact that the outer edge was polished metal and there was the problem of the Wheel Brightener (which you needed to clean the wheels) staining it. Since that was happening we had to hand polish the outer edge with Autosol when we finished cleaning the wheels.

Oh and how about Karl went all MacGyver on me while I was there. Where I had my CR system laying down in my Jeep for the trip one of the seals had dislodged from one of the cannisters. Well when I hooked water up to the CR it was flowing resins out of the discharge hose:yikes:. Well I didn't have my wrench for removing the cannister and figured we were screwed and wouldn't be able to use the CR. Well in steps Karl, aka MacGyver, and he whips off his belt, wraps it around the cannister and made a make shift strap wrench on the spot. He unscrewed the cannister like it was nothing and I replaced the seal/filter and all was well with the world again.

I really enjoyed the detail and hopefully Karl and I will be able to work together again soon. Oh and he talks about me costing him money well he was out of WB so we had to run to Majestic Solutions to get some and of course I'm like a kid in a candy store so I start buying things I think that I MIGHT need, LOL.

Dude their Super Green Stuff, Ultra Gloss soap, Leather and Plastic Cleaner, Bug Off, and Enviro Shield are MUST HAVES. Their Wheel Brite is great but its just like Megs Wheel Brightener and about the same cost. Just stay away from thier waxes and sealants as they are not that great. Their dressings that I have used and liked are Super Dress All (very matte finish), Poly Protectant (like 303 or CGs Silk Shine) and Mr. Natural (like Adams Undercarriage or CGs Bare Bones). Call and talk to them because they are great to deal with. Oh and like Karl said the glass towels are top notch and so are the bug sponges, and tire dressing applicators.

Yes, I forgot about Enviro-Shield, in which I am now a believer. I treated the M5's wheels with it after JL and I did all that work, right before delivering the car. I forgot about that step.

So gang, I went to Majestic this afternoon, and it was slow there. So I got to ask Phil, one of the owners, a bunch of questions.

Regarding their website - they know it's not very good. It just hasn't been a priority for them. What I took away from that part of the conversation is that they're worried they couldn't keep up with the demand if they "went national," if you will. Phil said he's happy with slow, steady growth. Website improvements are on their radar, but it's not a high priority item for them right now. Which I can understand. Hiring help to put together a good website costs BIG MONEY.

Website orders go to Paypal, and go out the door 24-48 hours from when the order is placed. If folks are uncomfortable with that, they can always call. They're super cool people to work with.

Now regarding their Wheel Brite. Phil mentioned this to me without me asking him - it is, in fact, different from the Meguiar's stuff now. It's got more (I think he said "phos?" Phosphorous maybe?) of a certain chemical in it than the Meg's stuff, and performs better. This has only been the case for a few months.

There are a certain number of products that they make which can't be shipped. They've got one called "Kick Acid" which Phil told me a story about. They shipped some of it to the eastern part of the state, and the container sprung a leak. It was only a gallon, but still, UPS filed a report (they have to do this), the truck was damaged, and a federal inspector was soon at their door looking around :yikes:

OK, another thing I asked Phil about was Leather and Plastic cleaner. Which is fantastic stuff, but neither JL or I like the smell much. So I asked Phil if I could add a bit of one of their fragrances to it, and he said sure, no problem. I've got an old bottle of their "Clean Cotton" scent, which smells like a dryer sheet, and threw maybe an ounce in there. MUCH better.

Anyway, there's some info for you guys on Majestic. If you've got other questions, don't hesitate to call them. Heck, tell them JL and I referred you!

Majestic Solutions and it leaves behind one of the best shines I've ever seen after a maint. wash. I have yet to see a soap leave behind a shine like it does. It's like Karl said the stuff is like washing your car with a great QD.

Exactly right. Before I started using UG, I'd typically follow with a QD to add that little bit of extra pop to the finish. Not necessary anymore.

It's super slick, suds up great, and the suds last a long time. If you're after a great maintenance wash, I say look no further.

And, like so many of the Majestic products...it's VERY cost effective. A gallon is only $17.95!

    --Karl, Majestic Solutions fanboi...
