My CarQuest has #902 (Gal of Carwash Concentrate) for 22. If you figure time+tax into that you may as well order it online if you planned to place a big order since the shipping never changes. If you were in a pinch then I'd see driving down to CQ and getting a Gallon for 22+tax or whatever.
So I would use Menz to fix the scratches and swirls, go over it with 501 (white car) topped with some Collinite 845? Or do I need a finishing polish before the 501?
501 seems to me as a paint cleanser post polishing with the ability to polish, clean and protect(sealant). Paint correction should be done with Menz and this can be your LSP or pre cleanser similar to Klasse AIO(all-in-one) and extra layer of 845 would add extra protection...
You can ask any of them to get it. I think I saw the gallons at the one in Round Rock, but I can't recall. It was either that or the one at 183 and Lake Creek? 902 is just the gallon version of 901. So if the ones closer to you carry 901 they can get 902. Now that I think of it, it might have been Federated Auto(A-Line Auto Parts) on Mays n Round Rock. I was running around one day looking for some 3M polish and saw the gallon and tried to store it in my memory banks.

Thanks everyone for the info. I have been looking at trying DG for a while but rearely hear anyone on the forums speakin of it so I was lookin at other things. I think I will get some 501 and 111 for starters. Something like this work? Paint correction with Menz, clean with 501 and top with 111 or should I stick with Collinite 845? Sorry all Im new to this
the DG 501 does no corrections...only way it will correct is if you add some 106FF to it....ask Wolfpacker...I told him and Sparkie and it will then do lite correction...even Po85Rd works as a finish polish when added to 501....I mix 2oz to 5oz of 501....then top it with ever you want... what menz are you using...if SIP then follow up with a finish polish and then 501..then top....do not mix yet..I do not want to confuse you...lol.... Yes...DG can be had at Federated Auto Parts.... Mindflux is right..after taxes and gas..its cheaper to order it..they ship real fast also...not like CG...lol...its out that day if you call early or the next day.... Phil..you are a maniac...lol....you just jump in on the King Size right off the bat.... Al what does AW stands for? Aquawax...some of the best spray sealant out for the money...ask any one who used it...stuff is sick slick...and water will not stay on the paint..use monthly over any LSP..worth every penny....its thier flagship product if you ask me... and the Track klaw is some very cool stuff...I just started playing with it..but if you like slick paint and good looks this is it....nothing stick to it...nothing...its actually used on NASCAR's so rubber and track grime does not stick to the paint.... AL
Its ok buddy.... your steps sounds good.. remember 111 is already a sealant and it is by choice if you want to add another layer of LSP. 845 should be a very durable product and may affect the way 111 looks but it shouldnt be a drastic change... I would make sure to cure 111 for a couple of hours or full day before applying 845 to make sure it binds.
let the 111 cure at least 24 hours for a topping of 845...845 is very solvent based..and if done on a sealant before a cure is complete..you may just wipe the sealant off the paint...845 has some serious solvents in it...will remove tar very easy...lol... No matter what sealant you use....wait a day or 2 before topping with 845... and if you top another wax with 845..its gone....845 is great stuff...but high in solvents... AL
What if it is another Collinite wax like 915, could you top this with 845? When I called Collinite, they told me there favorite method to use Collinte was to use their paste followed by 845.
501 and 105 is what I do mostly now...501 the clean the paint...and I let it sit a hour and do 105 by hand on top...actually the 501 has some stuff the 105 does not....its got some anti corrisive stuff for salt water ..and heavy UV stuff also so the gel coat or paint does not oxidize fast...so its a nice base coat..and paint cleaner and sealant..then top it with 105 either a hour later or the next day if possible.... 501 is very close to as durable as 105 in my opinion....I put them both on panels and left outside all winer...and this spring washed and they both beaded and sheeted nicely Al
Thats what I tought, did that combo on my audi allroad before I sold it. Can you tell me what 101 and 111 is for?
