You do what you have to, the wool and water kept the heat down actually.

    Thanks Phil :thumb:

Holy crap are you dating yourself big guy! I bought a CRX Si brand new in 88. Paid $14,400 CDN for it and spent $3000 on some 15" Momo's with 195/50/15 Bridgestone RE71 Potenzas ( the very first ones Bridgestone made! LOL ) How on earth did you fit in a CRX?

Quote by DSMS : "no more favors! Paint correction shouldnt be a favor, it takes too long and in the end most people never fully appreciate what you have to go through."

hehehe, man talk about it...I just spent 32 hours on an E55 AMG and only got payed $250 dollars because the customer couldn't imagine paying more than that.

The thinkg that really chaps me is that I spent 95% of the time on the correction, only for him to tell me afterwards that he is clueless when it comes to swirls and "paint correction" and all he cared about was the interior. I think we all need to take vows to advertise ourselves as Paint Miracle Workers, because the detailer name is putting bad images in ordinary customer's minds. Thy wonder why we can't do the job in 4 hours and wonder why we think we should get so much money because we can remove swirls..."anyone can do that with turtle wax ice!"

Nice job!!!! I hear the same story quite often. On correction, I provide my hourly rate and it is done when it is done. I've found it too difficult to nail down the exact price on a correction. I do offer packages but, they have a "from to" rate (e.g., $960 - $1200).

And, end of the day, all that extra time gets frustrating once you get past your billable time and you are watching the hourly rate drop for the work you just performed.

    Nice work!!

very nice work DSMS. i found myself in a similar situation earlier this summer and i feel your pain. once you get knee deep into the correction, the fact that youre basically working for free after a certain amount of hours hurts even worse! nonetheless, great work on a great car. glad to see more people picking up the jetseal again too btw!
