Do you charge extra for Opti Coat?

You'd have to check for the water beading properties and/or feel of the surface.

Yep, I've mentioned it before but I'm all over the place...there's no telling where.

With a product so unique and profitable, why doesnt Optimum have any marketing materials for detailers to present to customers?

You can download examples from optimumforum.org under the marketing section...you'd have to modify them to your company, but most of the work is done for you.

So my guess on my bro-in-law's car is that this is OC peeling then. Correct? He doesn't know and I haven't used it yet.
It's not CC as the paint is still good on this 03 Bmw Z4. This is below the grills and it's peeling under both grills/ kidneys

That looks pretty thick to be Opti Coat. Is he the original owner? Maybe the front end was resprayed at some point.

No, he's not the original owner. Yes it was resprayed and what looks like only a respray on the rear driver's fender.
The front end looks consistent with the rest of the car but that rear fender isn't.

That's not Opti Coat peeling. OC doesn't go on that thick and will not crack/peel. It actually becomes part of the clear substrate via a covalent bond. That appears to be the clear coat layer seperating from the color coat. It could be CC failure, a respray from a bump while new on the lot (those don't have to be reported on carfaxes), or even caused by bumping someone causing too much flex in the paint.

Thanks Chris and Ken for the clarification. I didn't want to touch it and peel off more when I detailed the car. So I just left that area alone.
