As the title states, what do we as detailers look for in Insurance coverage? Who do we use? How much is enough coverage? How often do you have to use them? I'm making this thread looking for information for myself as well as for others looking for a start in the industry the right way. If you can use this chart to post your findings to simplify the reading for some. Thanks to everyone on DB who chimes in. Where are you located? Who is your provider? Average Yearly cost? Deductibles($500, $2,000...etc.)? Coverage($500,000, 1 Million...etc.)? Pro's and Con's?
funny you posted this because i just was searching for the same thing i just spoke with my local (sc) statefarm agent and am awaiting to hear back from her tuesday. i will be sure to post my findings
I sell insurance for a living, mostly Property and Casualty but I am licensed in Commercial as well. As far as the questions go it's going to vary between person, business, and state. Things like annual revenue, age, credit history (sometimes), and coverage amounts are all big rating factors. Two big things I would suggest for ANY detailer would be to carry some sort of Errors and Omissions Insurance as well as a General Liability Umbrella policy. The rest will be between that person and his or her insurance provider.
just to mention. when i was looking for one, i went to state farm and they base insuriance on what you will make in a year. so if you not gona make much you not gona pay much, they can adjust it at end of the year. and based how much coverage you want to have as well
