    What is film install? its like plastic ... is it for protection? why install on top of the coat?

    yes its to protect the covered parts from getting chips.

    Its a clear urethane film that is applied over the paint to protect from rock chips and nicks from normal use of driving the car. It is pretty thin stuff, ~8 mil, so you can hardly see it applied but strong enough to protect from rock chips.
