Never had an issue with un maintained wheels and wheel woollies, if its that bad the wheel is coming off and I am breaking out the dish brush.

+1 I only use it for the inside of the wheels not the face. Once you use it a couple of times it softens up. I put mine it hot water overnight and that helped soften it up. No scratches so far.

I am always afraid of any steel or wire in any brush. I have used the Daytona and Wheel Woolies. These are good tools for fairly well maintained wheels. My brother stoppped by with his truck that was caked and baked and I could not get all the baked in stuff off with my current brushes the Uber might be helpful if you see this regularly. Not sure anything would have helped. Eventually with Sonax and some elbow grease we got them to 95%.

I agree. I have a few long, thin brushes like the RG and they seem to flatten out. The only time I use mine is when I can't get my regular wheel brush between the brake components and the wheel. That way it doesn't wear out any where near as fast. As for the Griots, the white material is actually built up in layers. If you wreck the top layer, peel it off exposing the next. There are three layers on each brush. Dan, this brush is actually very durable and for $13 for a set of three, its easily the best value as far as wheel brushes go.

If the wheels you are cleaning are that bad, have a mild acid like Megs WB on hand. Its safe when used as directed. You are wasting your expensive Sonax on wheels that messed up.

My large wheel woolie also unravelled on my 2nd set in a year.

I used my Swissvax brushes alot too, honestly it all depends on the type of wheel and composition etc.... no one size fits all if you ask me
