Actually, there are 3 "specs" that are important. Lumens (brightness), kelvin (color temps) and CRI (color rendering index). You want a higher number for the CRI with 100 being the highest.

Also, 6500K is usually considered "daylight", as the 5300-5500K is only around noon. The rest of the day it is higher. 6500K is also used as the standard in video reproduction.

good one blk45....I just browsed it for a few minutes.. but glad you picked out more....but I thought that High noon sun was the best ..so it would be 5300-5500k ...the sun gun is only 4700K with a CRI of 99.3%..I do not know what the other guns CRI is at....

Cool, show us that comparison! This could be useful in general for the house considering lugging around my MAGLite is so annoying. Do you have to purchase a battery when you order the Fenix? Guessing it's the most powerful for the price range?

 

I'll place the comparison next saturday, I hope the pics will be nice and enough to see the reality. My Fenix has 215 lumens, maybe more lumens will be too many. It uses 2xCR123A batteries.

 

I tried placing the comparison today, I took pics, but they're not good because the car I detailer didn't have many swirls...
