We have a Klima-Cleaner application guide with added photos (Scion) and an illustration (2008 Audi A4) showing a typical layout and location of the evaporator core and housing.

Hopefully this will give you a better sense of how the system looks like. How to apply einszett Klima-Cleaner.

I have a 2007 Audi A4 Avant and the A/C is now super funky. Usually, the smell goes away after the A/C runs for a few minutes, but now the terrible odor persists as long as the unit is on.
My question is what's the deal with the disclaimer "if you're unsure, have a certified mechanic" use it?? Is it safe for my vehicle? If so, I'm getting a can ASAP!

Sorry for the late response. I've been out of town since late last week.

We have to include that disclaimer because the product is made for professional use. You can't just stick it in and press the nozzle without reading the application instructions. If you follow the directions exactly, you won't have any issues.

    That includes:

    - shaking the can prior to use
    - holding upright when dispensing
    - making sure the air flow is directed to the upper body and not the footwells
    - dispensing through the center vents
    - waiting only 20-30 minutes for product to work.
    - turning on air to max for one minute after application

We have had one case in the past in which a customer did not follow the directions and had a problem with some of the electronics. The customer even admitted to not following the advice specifically. That was one case in many thousands of happy customers but enough where we feel the need to maintain that disclaimer.

So follow the directions and everything will be fine. We've had a lot of A4 owners use the product without any issue.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

    Thank you!

Michael... any tips on using the Klima cleaner on the w210 Mercedes E-Class?

I attempted to snake the tube in through the center vent(s), but no luck. It was a quick attempt, but nonetheless...

I used this product about a month ago and followed the directions to the tee. After starting up the ac, I noticed a burning rubber smell, but it went away after a day to two. A few days later I noticed bits of thin rubber fragments on my seats and floor. Although the burning rubber smell has left, I still get bits of black debris coming out of the air vents. What is going on?

Michael @ einszett, would it be possible to list some of the known cars that you have to be careful with? There must be some vehicles that you know of allready that you just shouldnt use this product with....

We don't have any kind of database. Any model prior to early 2000's shouldn't have any issue at all.

The one customer we had the complaint (referenced earlier) had an Acura TSX. But we've had many TSX owners use the product without any problems. The cutomer complained that the ECU was located underneath the dash and there was a hole in the A/C duct that ran next to the ECU. This way the cool air would cool the ECU. His complaint that was by injecting the foam in the ducting, it exited the duct through the hole and soaked the ECU. In fact, the ECU is located on the driver-side underneath the trim next to the transmission tunnel (not sure how to describe it). So not sure what happened but the customer did admit he wasn't sure about what he was doing.

The best advice I can give you is to follow the directions. I'm sure most of you do but you would be surprised how many customers do not read the directions. This is where problems can occur and we have to cover our bases by stating a disclaimer. You can get away with it when applying a wax or a tire dressing. But with Klima, you have to read the directions. If you do, you'll have no problems.

The HVAC system is generally the same throughout the industry.
