love my Makita! Feels like an old friend. That doesn't mean I won't try another rotary, but I have a feeling that I won't be giving up my Makita...

You can't go wrong with either as they are all good solid brands

What a great recommendation from someone who owns them all and has compared! I own a Dynabrade..have never tried the Makita. I think the Dynabrade is built like a brick shithouse and I love that about it. Don't worry about "going with the flow"..get what makes sense to you.

    Dynabrade Electric Rotary Buffer
on 2 videos, it sounds like its pulsing and not constant rotation. is something wrong with video or what?
looks on one video they have DA attachment. maybe thats what makes that pulsing sound

do you have more pics of this rotary? specialy from top. thanks

ill probably go with hitachi or makita. looks like dynabrade doesnt come with loop handle. kinda important thing for me. cant use DA with just side handle. had to take it off.

Thats the poor audio in the videos and the first one is with their DA optional attachment. As far as loop handles I really don't use any handles on my rotaries as I like to hold the head of the units my self .Feels more natural to me .As I feel I apply a more even pressure that way.Compared to using either handle type.

Yes It should be in about the same spot as on a Makita

I don't see a problem with that .As The Hitachi has a 5 yr warranty But the Dynabrade has a lifetime one . Hitachi was at one time all the Buzz but I really haven't heard much about it in awhile. I do remmeber some kind of issue they had .But I don't quite remmember what it was . I'm sure it was resolved . In the end is what you can afford and be happy with. As any one of the listed units a good as stated before.

go polish a table or tool box oer soemthing i want to know how it works.

will you start a new thread as a Hitachi SP18VA review thread?

i guess i can do review on it but i have nothing to compare it to.
its similar to makita but has little different specs. maybe if somebody with makita close buy can try both and see which one works better

i have a makita, but dont know how or when we could compare them.

    from specks
hitachi is lighter 6.2 vs 6.6lbs
more powerfull 11ams vs 10 amsp

speed dial setting is different however
    makit is
    RPM
    600
    900
    1,500
    2,100
    2,700
    3,000

    hitachi
    600
    1100
    1700
    2300
    2900
    3400

im sure its ok since most ppl work in those range anyway

id probably rather have makita speed settings but im sure i can adapt to this plus its not that much different and triger is variable speed like makita

would be nice to have continuously variable trigger lock option so you can lock it at any speed, not just at dial presets

but i think ill be happy with it. plus 5 year warranty comparing to Makitas 1 year.
i dont see reason why somebody who is looking for this type wouldnt consider hitachi
    its only $149+shipping from coastaltools

i would like to see and feel how solid the hitachi is. The makita seems pretty solid and well built. plus the rpm range on the makita seems better than the hitachi.
