If it is true, I think if the mods know it by now and he is still posting so either way the staff must be ok with this. It is also interesting that others must have known all along (not just suspicious) like anyone who has been at CG recently.

In the defense of Handz, he wasn't the original poster of this thread. Nor was he the OP in the thread about Lava, and if were honest, there was a lot of bashing about the guy in the video that even I admittedly made a comment or two about. If it is you, then I apologize and should say that CG needs a better script writer.

I understand that he looks the exact same as the guy in the CG videos. I'm not going to say I agree with the accusation, but the similarities are staggering...

Looking through some of the threads he posted in the past, there were only a couple that may be considered possible shilling, but then again, he's also made a thread about how epic Meg's WB is. Some could look at it as shilling, others could look at it as a useful review.... But that goes with saying that if Handz is the guy in the video, it is silly to say that "I just saw this video...." :p silly indeed

As far as anything he has said in this thread about Meg's MF pads versus the CG/Optimum pads, I can agree on the statement that some of Meguiars pads come apart. This happened to me a few times. I email Meguiars and they sent me replacement pads within a week. I have NOT tried either Optimum's or CG's pads. The do look extremely similar but I can't comment on more than that. I will say that I am very annoyed with comments of "WE'VE been developing these XXX blah blah blah..." let's be real. Some one sent you some samples of an item, you tried it, you liked it, boom! You sell it.

Many companies do that. But I think it's a little over the top if you say you "developed" something... "developed" meaning, you told the company that the handle of this brush needs to be a little longer

^^^that is what I have the issue with, not that he works for CG, or even promotes the products, that is great.

Its the shady way he goes about it, and honestly. the whole " i stumbled on this video" BS is what pisses me off the most, not what is in the video, the script or the content, that is just amusing, its the blatant lying about it.............

Id love to see CG be a sponsor here, nothing wrong with that. just do it the legit way.

Hi, I am completely ignorant on the new MF pad trend. Could some one drop some knowledge and help me understand the pros and cons of going with MF over foam?

    Thanks!

Another low-flyer.. only certain types are instantly banned here - even when its a non shill issue(Mods and owner are you reading this? - the forum rules for the simple "names" needs to be considerably more accessible if a ban hammer is on a hair trigger when name requests are just plain ignored)

You don't need to defend him, its the fact he was blatantly being deceptive(because yes, it is him) and the fact he plays a passive part in it - after getting busted - similar to when the entire forum ganged up to clown him(I have noted the group mentality here as well), is a passive way to keep some of the heat off of him. He has been with CG and seemingly playing a game of 'inception' here for quite some time from the "tone" of his posts. I mean you guys really didn't think it was just luck that when each new CG thing came out before it came out that he had it and mentioned it do you? Respectfully are the moderators and controllers just more lax now or not paying attention to anything but product vending competition?

Very curious to see what the end result is.

For the record, I really don't give a rip about the actualHandz and his attempts shilling or CG(probably a good dude and CG has good stuff), I really just want to see how the vendor owned forum, supporter moderated forum handles this compared to "first time" things in the past.

The detailing forums, all individual vendors, and supporters, the customers are all about patterns, some are just picked up on easier than others. Keep your brains peeled folks.

I for one never noticed, as I never cared.........

but when it became blatant It rubbed me the wrong way as it has other. I am sure he is a nice guy, and I agree with you CG has good stuff, we play by the rules and I think they should be evenly applied, cannot speak for what happened to you.

I am just too observant of particular things not notice patterns, especially with this. There are plenty of examples all over(not just handz or sneaky forum people), some which are just not worth it to mention.

As stated he is playing a passive part in this now to get the heat off, signed in at 22:37 - obviously had to check his updates on the little "delivery"...and no result as of yet.

Mike - what makes this forum different from other forums that one is allowed to, for example, ONLY use Chemical Guys products. Handz was doing just that, and there is nothing wrong with that. We saw the videos, some had a good laugh about it, we moved on. You like Menzerna polishes? Use them. You like Wolf's polishes? Use them. You like only CG products? Great, they make good stuff. Use them.

However, I agree that everyone needs to be painted with the same brush. Now that we know that Handz is directly employed by CG, we will take corrective action.

The forum has been drama free for quite some time now, and we wish to keep it that way.

I didn't mean for it to sound like a difference in forums in relation to a person using whatever. I was merely stating it was a pattern, that now has come into better light.

I was just using his passive-demeanor [whatever its called] when the forum jumped on the "guy in the video" as an example to what hes doing now, avoiding the heat. I am not going to look through all his posts but I bet they are similar in that there is probably not a ton related to non-CG stuff but then a mention would be dropped and he would not post for a while maybe? I picked up on a pattern with him for a while(I believe some of the super duper CG waxes were a trigger, if I remember myself thinking correctly).. and all I was saying was that I mentioned patterns.

For example I remember an Ohio fella and a Canadian fella ALWAYS mentioning DI sales, like every chance they got - this was before it discovered(by the masses) that they had a pretty shilly affiliate program. But again I know one of the guys now and hes a good guy - just an easy to spot(in both these cases) pattern.

Definitely paint with said brush, its good for the whole community. Patterns...patterns. Even the not so obvious are fine to spot. Its not about Greg(Handz) its about the non consistent pattern of how his actions will be treated - mark my words.

My pattern with topics like Sonax wheel cleaner is to say that it sucks and to mention its been around for a long time before it became the "known" go-to for guys who like cleaning their wheels, because it doesn't perform to a level I personally expect.

If you are talking about these -- http://www.autodetailingsolutions.net/new-detailing-products.html
they have been at this Site for a little while now. If Phil sells them that would be good too. Optimum also has them on their website.

I will say having used the Megs MF Discs for the longest time I recently tried the CG's Microfiber pad this last weekend while doing a Correction with Bob Willis and Jeff. I went down the whole driver side with the Megs MF and then changed up to the CG MF Disc for the passenger side... In my first experience with the pads they out performed the Megs Discs in every single aspect they cut faster, finish down noticeably better (almost LSP ready but not quite), lasted longer, and I was able to put more pressure with them without having a problem. All in all it was my first time using them as I experiment with them more I will do a review but I would strongly recommend this pad if you have not tried it.

I had a chance to try the CG pads, I have to say they were much better than Megs! I also tried out some of their Optical Compound V34, very impressed with cut and finishing.

Anyone compared these yet to the Optimum pads? I am traveling up to Pittsburgh this weekend and thinking about stopping by Autoality's store but they only carry the optimum MF pads, need to determine if I'm ordering Chemical Guys' or buying the Optimum ones in person.

So far it seems the sentiment is they are very similar.
