Chemical Guys New MF Polishing Pads

Tie his hands (we are not freestyling dude) and remove all the adjectives and we have an so-so video. No closeups or 50/50's?

I have a question for you all ... how flat is a Prius hood? I got the impression that he was applying way too much pressure on the back of the machine on a lot of his passes.

 

This is why DB is my first choice for a detailing forum. The open mindedness of members and sponsors is unrivaled, period.

 

GDAL - you are killing me !!! Maybe they could take away the morning-5-hour-energy-starbucks-meet before they start filming?

Not sure of the flatness of a Prius hood vs the skill of the user, but know that if you have to raise up the machine to eye-level to see what speed you are on each time you change it, well - then there's that...

I'm Italian/Puerto Rican/Dominican and I suffer from the worst case of "talking" with my hands. I used to do a lot of corporate presentations back in the day, and I was always paying attention to my hand motions. You don't want be too stiff, but you don't want to be moving hands like you doing a rap battle at 8 Mile in Michigan either ... just sayin'

I have detailed a few prius cars before. The hood is not exactly flat. It has a body line right down the middle and is curved on both left and rights sides.

as far as pressure on the machine goes, I didnt notice to much pressure, but i do know when i am detailing a PC7424xp or a 3401 Flex i am applying 5-7 pounds of pressure to the machine to control the level of cut. I was always taught with a dual actual to use 5-7 pounds of pressure and only use the weight of the machine when polishing with a rotary.

 

I was questioning the even pressure distribution, not the actual pressure amount. It seemed to me that the foam was compressed more in the back of the pad (area closest to the operator) than the in the front. I can see that happening if the hood is not completely flat.

 

are the pads spinning?...haha...if not spinning, then it ain't any good in front of you...=p

However, I think MF is a great system. I have the Megs pads still sitting here to use on my truck this spring, I think ill pick up some of these to try against the Megs pads.........

Price is a little less, and it looks like they really addressed some of the failures the Megs pads had.

GDAL. I noticed that too, very uneven distribution of the pads, also at times it looks like the front of the pad is not even making contact.
No close ups, no real 50/50s......not say it does not work, but really that is almost standard now in making videos especially if you are selling a new product.

 

Well - I ordered some and according to Fed X - should have in my hands on Saturday. I too have tried Megs and had issues with pad separation. I know they claim over 3 years of R&D went into glueing a swatch of microfiber on a piece of foam (same as their cutting pad) but jeez! Next time Megs - send that beta batch to me, I'll either kill it or proclaim it's the best thing since electricity. But it will have passed the JB test before it gets my vote. CG on the other hand was selling these across the big pond for months now, I feel pretty confidant that they are better.

Are these sourced from the same manufacturer as the Optimum MF pads? Are they the same pads?

 

Several other people have speculated the same thing given how similar they appear to be but I don't think there has been a definitive answer as to yes or no.

 

Am I crazy for thinking you are being deceptive as hell for talking about a video "you heard of" but you just happened to be in the video?


It's been a hell of a week so I am prepared to apologize if needed, but are you in the video - or do you simply have a twin brother that works at CG that you don't talk to.


I literally just posted about this the other day, low fllyers certain people "ignoring" or not catching on to some.

The guys and I used the CG pads yesterday here in Vegas on a Hertz Shelby and they worked really well.

I like CG products, I do not need to be back door marketed too on a forum. Stop posting coincidental videos, and pictures, just keep it real......... "say Hey I represent, work, love, volunteer, sold my soul, hang out there on the weekend" at Chemical guys instead of playing it off like you stumbled onto a video or information.

This community is too small and too tight knit for people to be playing games about who they work for, or represent. Keep it real, and people will respect you more. If I am wrong and you are not the guy in the video, and Im way off base ill personally apologize to you, and buy you a cookie. but if you are. just be honest........ that is all we are asking for.

I have been noticing his discrete shilling for a while. The thread that got me fed up what the picture with at CG with fellow forum members. "I just happened to be at CG ..."
