Hmmm heres a picture of mine??!?

I just tested my stuff and the purple/grape smelling stuff is bare bones- it restored the plastic in my dads trucks wheel well.

But the blue one, grime reaper- bubbled up when I sprayed it. This is what degreasers and cleaners do.

So my conclufison is they simply mislabeled. Damn Chemical Guys is killing me!!!!!!

i would call them and let them know that.

So Bare Bones is not able to be diluted, correct? Only grim reaper?

As stated, your products are mis labeled. Bare Bones should be blue and Grime Reaper should be purple.

Give them a call and complain, see what it does for you.

Makes you wonder how many other gallons are out there mislabeled and being used wrong.

Yea CG really needs to get their act together. Spelling errors is one thing, mislabeled bottles(let alone gallons) is another. I couldn't imagine how mad I would be if I was trying to remove bugs from a front bumper and ended up dressing them instead.

What's scary is detailedimage's page shows Bare Bones = Blue and Grime Reaper = Purple.

Edited to add: Same with CG's page. GR=Purple, BB=Blue.

But it seems the reverse is true here.

On that note, Grime Reaper is $10 off at CG's web store right now, it's $17.95 for a GALLON. That's insane.

Grime Reaper= Diluted 5:1 ---- very powerful degreaser
Bare Bones= No dilution/straight ---- very nice trim/wheel well dresser

True that! I'm glad you guys could help me out!

I won that Ezyme give away and also have just been hooked up on various things so I dont want to be annoying, as an adult could view me as a begging teenager lol.
But yeah mislabeling is just unacceptable.

I can just see all the shampoos getting mixed up- on the site they have like 8 different kinds haha.

Thats funny but on the other hand that would make me so mad. Yeah I went ahead and loaded up on 6 different chemical gallons instead of trying them out in the 16oz. Everything else seems to work great. I will contact them though.

True, DI is a great seller. But I think we hvae found a flaw

    True.
Nevertheless, CG products are amazing. They get the job done very well- I dont know how they do it (with their misspelling, website errors, mislabeling etc)) but I love their products. I will keep buying from them, Paul is a great guy to workwith

damn they just need to offer a little more promotion like free shipping to Hawaii and i would use them a heck of a lot more often. Only reason why i have some CG stuff is because a buddy of mine went to CA for work and stopped by their store and grabbed me a couple things.

    He wouldn't bring back gallons though . . . .

But on that note, you'll be paying $10+ for shipping where as you order a few gallons from DI, and you get free shipping.

Yes, that's true but 20 dollars additional in product cost from DI vs $10 for shipping from CG still nets a savings of $10 over DI. ;) Also lets not forget the 5% off coupon on CG's page too.

*Edit: I've never owned/used a CG product to my knowledge (unless it's been a rebranded PBW product or something like that) so i have no allegiance to their store over another. I was just amazed how much the grime reaper was marked down last night. Shipping on 2 gallons was about $10 bucks, and that's not bad considering the weight.

Yeah I ordered 5 gallons along with some mfs, clay, and 16oz bottles. I seriously recall the shipping being like $15 or something...

At least you resolved the issue, this is definately a funny perdicament... At least you only mixed it in 5:1 lol.

You know, Griem Reaper is awesome. But I also love Meg's Super Degreaser. I think after my gallon of grime reaper runs out, it will be back to megs SD. Purely because of price. I can get a gallon of SD for a little under 10 bucks.

It's things like this.. like Meg's APC+ costing 15 bucks that makes me wonder why people buy things like OPC which is 35. They're both effectively all purpose cleaners just like your example above.

I just don't know a place where you would use Grime Reaper where you couldn't use meg's SD.

As far as APC+, I've never tried it, but will soon. I don't really care for the regular Meg's APC since it foams too much. I have went through 3 gallons of Optimum Power Clean, and LOVE it. But I should really do a side by side comparison with Meg's APC+. Sometimes when you find something that works, you just stop trying other stuff, even though there may be a more affordable solution out there. OPC has handled everything I've thrown at it, but you are right, it is expensive.
