Call them before you go out, they can look up stock on computers, this will save you a trip.

 

Good to know! Not so good after I bought one. My Highline was pretty accurate though.

 

Crap, this is what I get for being away from the computer most of the day. Ankeet, did they have any others that you saw? I'd like to grab one if they did, just to have it as a backup.

 

Karl, no they did not have any other ones, I got the last one. I called the Durham one and they did'nt have any as well.

 

After reading the initial post I decided to call first, girl said they had 5 of 'em for $9.99/per. I sez "don't let 'em get away from you, I'll take 'em all, I'll be there in an hour."!

Seems the misguided little tart can't read. They had 5 of these:

I think you need to recalibrate your HL II from start to finish before comparing readings. The calibration process can seem confusing but I usually do the following:

Reset the gauge to factory defaults (press the "-" key for 3 seconds, 000 should display on the screen afterwards)

Zero calibrate the unit for Fe (press the "+" key for 3 seconds before zero'ing on the Fe check piece)

Zero calibrate the unit for nFe (press the "+" key for 3 seconds before zero'ing on the nFe check piece)

Starting with the thinest shim proceed to calibrate the unit (take a reading of the plastic shim/foils, then press the "MEM" key for 3 seconds and adjust the reading on the gauge up or down until it matches the chosen shim). Do this for each foil for both nFe and Fe and the process is complete :thumb:

called one of harbor freight stores and guy mentioned that there probably new one coming out soon so lets see what that will cost.

 

I can't seem to find them anywhere near me, kinda bummed. I would like to take one with me when I go to car lots looking for a car.

It's it as good as the HL II and if your still happy with it (Misha) then I should definitely go for this

 

i sold it and sold HL II as well.
that gauge is good. just not as comfortable to use as HL II
