Are you talking about the Flex 3401VRG or the Flex 3403 Rotary ??

I would just get the Griots ... I had a chance to test Phil's Flex DA and I'm not a fan. I would use a rotary for the amount of fatigue you might experience with the Flex DA ... weights the same as a rotary, but it vibrates more.

Im talking about the Flex 3401 VRG, i have the Flex PE-14 already, just looking for something to get if i dont use the rotary, and wanna make sure that if i get the griots or even the flex and use the meguiars DA microfiber system, either will be good enough for a full correction, i have a client with a platinum grey GLI that he just contacted me and wants a full paint correction, but if i can get away with the DA system on it for the most part without pulling out the roatary i will be happy

I think a lot of people dont like that the Flex 3401VRG rotates counter-clockwise, which is the opposite of all other machines like the Makita, the Flex rotaries, the PC's of all the brands....

And, you cannot put an Extension on the Flex to put the pad out farther from the machine so you can get into smaller tighter areas easier, but you can put an extension on any of the Rotaries or PC's out there.

Then, a lot of users say the Flex3401VRG is too big and heavy, and maybe it is, but it is still not as big as the Makita9227C. It is however, bigger and heavier than the Griot, Meguiars, Or Porter Cable PC's.

So you should probably be thinking about how you would use it if you had it, and then think about how you would use the Griot's if you had it.

The Flex will out live probably more than a dozen Griot's machines, because it is made sturdy by the people who make machines to do heavy duty polishing of Stones, etc.. In all the years I have had mine, it has never even acted like it might be going down for the count.

I hear Griot's breaking quite often over a year, pretty much every year, someone has one that just pooped out.

So, if you are running a business, and know the value of back up tools, and can pay for that value in $$$ to have the tool/s in Inventory, in case you need them, or want to rotate them in your usage/business, then get whatever will fill your current and future needs first.

The current price of a new Flex 3401VRG is over $300 and I dont know if they are offering the carrying case, at least 1 backing plate, and a few pads, like they used to when they first came out.

I personally like mine, use it frequently, but always use the Flex Rotary you have first, get my correction down quickly to the stage I want, and then, maybe take out the Flex for application of something really fine, LSP's , etc...
This Flex with the standard 6.5" pad will be harder to manage than the same machine with the 4-3/8" backing plate and the 5" pads. This is a given, dozens of people have learned this as well as me and years before they came out with the backing plate, we took the bigger one and cut it down so it would fit the 5" pads and it was like a whole new ballgame.

    Good luck !

i think i might pass on the flex, i do already have the rotary, so i might just snag either the griots or pc, i guess now im to the decision of which one of those to get, i could pick up with pc cheap for now with dd having the valentines day sale

Porter cable nico. It does everything u need to do. Anything you can't get with a pc you can get with your flex rotary. Plus you have experience with one.

Out of the Megs G110 V2, PC XP and Griots the hands down best machine is the griots.

You can get solid correction even on speed 4 with the griots and rarely will I ever use speed 6, its a little too fast. With a PC you aint correcting nothing unless you crank it up to 6, should put things into perspective.
