BOAT MOLD!! Help!

I was going to say the same thing with the steam. if you have a steamer that will clean it up for you. then you top it of with some dressing. let us know what worked for you when you finish. Good luck.

 

I've always used steam to clean boats. Usually it's just so much easier than using a chemical. But not everyone has a steamer and they can get pretty pricey. But if you can get a hold of one that is the way I'd take. Also, just make sure you let the client know that it COULD be stained to the point of no return.

Oh, and also the steam will help soften the vinyl and open it's pores. I always steam clean a section and get dressing on it right after. Seems to help keep it soft.

 

i use bleach and water on my boat then i go bqck over after with a vinyl cleaner

 

Fantastik cleaner, it is available most any where. If you go down into a marina you will notice everyone has a bottle.

It is actually what a few of the boat companies reccomend. Spray it on, scrub it with a stiff brush, wipe it off - it goes pretty easily. I have done some "far gone" boats and RV's with that process. CG green clean has worked well for me on interior mold - dealing with stored classic cars. I have a 51' crestliner in the shop right now with mold that need to be taken care of and that will be my go-to product.
