this car came to me as a blind referral from my main customer this weekend. the bimmer is owned by a friend and coworker of his. in store would be a thorough exterior cleanse and winter prep. the paint was is somewhat rough shape, so im hoping to get it for some correction in the spring, as at minimum a good one step would do this cars paint a world of good. its all swirled, with some holo's, rids, and a little faded...the works. i will be working the owners newly acquired M5 in the coming week or weeks as he was reportedly "thrilled" with the outcome of his 335, and his wife "wasn't sure if it was really the same car or not". some befores firstly, the wheels were tended to with sonax. surprisingly after agitation and high pressure rinse with hot water, they did not come totally clean. i had to go back over them again with AG Custom Wheel Cleaner. hmmmmmmmm  here are the wheels cleaned X2. the entire car was thoroughly pressure rinse with hot water 2 times, and then the car was soaked head to toe with citrus degreaser at 4:1. after being left to dwell for ~4-5 minutes, the car was given another pressure rinse and brought inside for an ONR wash. after bringing the car inside, the paint was literally almost perfectly clean of surface dirt after enduring a thorough decon, but i ONR'd it anyways for good measure hood looking kind of sorry and faded clayed with Bilt Hamber Soft. drivers side: Passenger Side rear bumper and trunk like areas exhaust was tidied up as much as possible. unfortunately the insides were a lost cause For LSP, i decided to switch it up a bit. firstly, i glazed the car with EZ Creme and an uber black pad via griots DA, which significantly brightened the paint, hid some imperfections, and provided a nice bed for my lsp. i decided to go for powerlock on this one (this ones for chas and dave). 2 caots of powerlock via DA did the trick.
thanks man! thank you. yeah dave does. my comment was in reference to a thread recently where there was a little debate in regards to powerlock and 845.
Good work - really cleaned up with the LSP. In spring, you should ask him if he wants that dealer decal removed.
thanks man. yeah powerlock is pretty impressive. ive had some for a while now but have only used it a couple times. going to start messing with it some more. thanks! yeah i really like the looks of powerlock and its SUPER slick to boot. im not really sure honestly. ive been using it exclusively for a while now with great results. for some reason i had to go over the barrels of the wheels again with custom wheel cleaner though. surprising because i did a lot of agitation and made sure every inch of the wheels was coated with sonax. thank you. yeah good call on the decal. i'll bring it up when i do his M5 next week.
