mostly because it's so convinient, we are lazy to live in the real world, and live in virtual reality...people pay bills online, get paperless statements (why, paper statements are free, and forget this F***ing theory of saving a tree, think of how many people you will leave without a job), do more and more shopping online, which consolidates things to a few warehouses, instead of stores all around...F***, maybe interntet really needs to be killed once and for all, so we can get back to the world it used to be...

Yeah without the internet you hate do muvh you wouldn't be ordering detailing supplies by the droves because of specials you know about instantaneously.

Instead Phil MIGHT send out a flyer once per quarter via snail mail for you to phone your order in. Sounds great. :bla2: In fact, if it wasn't for the internet he may not even have a retail business. He might just be another detailer using whatever off the shelf products he can find at Autozone.

I like paperless statements, both for the fact I'm not having another company waste paper. Also for the fact that the US Mail isn't exactly reliable. What if I never get that statement? My bill might go unpaid. Email statements give me an instant reminder to go set up a payment for that biller. I haven't missed a payment in years since e-statements became available. Before that? I'd miss them every now and then because either the statement came late, never came or got accidentally thrown out or one of the other hundreds of things that can happen to a physical piece of media once it's mailed out.

I say bring on the internet revolution. Blockbuster had it coming, they had more than a decade to figure out how to survive with the way things are going and are failing at it. One of my closest friends was a manager at a Blockbuster and the things he'd tell me about how corporate handled things; it's no wonder they're going under.

Time does not move backward as you wish it to do. I love someone griping about the internet while they are using it to post on a forum........that's just rich. As far as a paper statement step into the real world.......read your bills because many companies now charge 99¢ or more for doing so. Time Warner is just one doing it.

As far as BB filing, an article I read said they may close another 500 stores on top of the 1000 they closed previously. Sorry for those that will be laid off but I haven't been to a movie rental place in many years so it means nothing to me.

I never missed a payment with a paper statement...I know exactly when it's due, and pay it on time...most of my bills are on AUTOPAY, yet I still demand a paper statement? Why? Because it creates jobs for people...economy only works if you are spending, once we all stop spending, people won't have jobs...

nope, they don't. DirecTV sends me a paper statement, and although I already signed up for Autopay, I still want it on paper...Some companies might give you a dollar off your bill if you sign up for paperless statement, but paper statement is already included in your service at no charge...detailed statements may be different. Just think of it this way, paper statement creates a job for somebody making paper, printing statement, and delivering it to your house...that's at least three people.... If you are not being charged for it, then you should receive it. Screw that "tree hugging" theory, this money saving theory creates additional bonuses to executives which spend them on sluts and prostitutes...so, by going paperless, you just bought somebody a prostitute...WTF would you wanna do something like that???
I also create jobs by sending my spam mail back in prepaid envelope. I don't pay for it...USPS has a job delivering it...

My bills aren't on AUTOPAY, which by the way without the internet those probably wouldn't be as readily available either. I like seeing my bills before I pay them in case there's some sort of billing error. I'd rather not overpay because of a mistake a company made and fight to get my money back because it's auto deducted by them each month.

I don't want a paper statement, I already get too much junk mail as it is thanks to the post office agreeing to deliver anything to my address, wanted or not.

You're seriously worried about some minimum wage workers losing their jobs stuffing envelopes? like that's what they aspire to be in life?

They should be schooling themselves in something that can keep them working at a better wage, heck IT related fields are in demand because of the internet. What about all the jobs that would be lost if the internet were to simply go away?

You think you're creating more jobs by that? You're over burdening the Post office is all you are doing. They aren't hiring in record numbers or anything. They're raising prices and cutting back on staff because they aren't profitable. Don't blame that on the internet either, they were raising prices and trying to get out of their negative money problem well before the internet boom.

Using your logic: Why would you do that? creating overtired workers by sending back spam in prepaid envelopes leads to shootings at post offices and people die. WTF would you wanna do something like that to people AND their families.

Great strawman argument. Goes great with the irony. ;)

You forget all the benefits of the internet. The internet has revolutionized education and health care. For people like you who live in a large city, you might not realize the benefits. But for anyone who lives in a smaller community, youll notice faster diagnosis, easier access to 2nd (and 3rd and 4th and 5th...) opinions, quicker access to information regarding new research and techniques and drugs. Dont even get me started on the improvements and benefits at the university level of education.

If going green didnt create jobs, how do you explain all the jobs 'created' by companies suppying green detailing products, or house cleaning products. How about Volvo going to enviroment friendly and human freindly materials? Half of the green products at walmart are from companies that didnt exist 10 years. 'Going green' created those jobs. The other half of the products sold are from existing companies, like Johnson&Johnson. Their decision to add 'green' has allowed them to expand business and touch all markets. Instead of butting heads with change, they decided to adopt change. Its working great for them.

'Going green',like the internet, is only bad for an individual if said individual cant figure out a way to change in order to maintain with society. And if we as N.Americans dont adobt the change, european and asian companies just might take advantage of the oppurtunity and squeeze out N.American companies.

the thing is I can't stop smam mail therefore I figured out a way to get rid of it - sent it back...And BTW, I never heard a case of somebody get shot in a post office because of the junk mail they return back to a sender? Perhaps you can post a link?

I now all the benefits of it, I use it all the time. Internet isn't going away, it's advancing...That does NOT make me wanna go paperless...

Dude, it's just marketing, pushing their products...if material can be recycled, they call it "green"...or if it's made out of something already recycled...And BTW, I'm all in for that!!!
seriously, dude...now that they went bankruptsy, just let it go...and BTW, it will be nice if you reply to your PMs...:poke:

It's not the sending of spam back specifically causing shootings, it's the fact that postal workers work tireless hours sorting/delivering a never ending supply of mail. There aren't "slow periods", there are normal periods and then periods where they are over busy. Valentines and Christmas are probably the big ones.

You are just adding to the never ending supply of mail to sort by sending your spam back. I like the idea of what you are doing, by wasting a corporations money showing them you don't want their offers.. but to say you are creating jobs by that is just lunacy.

    supercharged;

If you use autopay why don't you care about all those companies that are producing less checks (thusly needing less staff) because of all the autopay users? Also, autopay means you aren't mailing in your payments. You're making those poor letter stuffers, check makers and envelope sorters lose their jobs! you bastard!
