great turnaround...so does washing the car with distilled water really helps?or is it just for special use only
Man that car was beat. Nice save. Was it a single stage paint or clearcoated? I think I need some of that black-wow because the rubber trim on my ES on the sunroof looks almost just as faded as that car. Tried 303 on it but it doesn't do a great deal of improvement.
Thanks for all the kind comments. I actually did a similar restore for an IS 300 Sportcross...any interest in seeing that one?
A few other Lexus' we've done..... GS350 BEFORE GS350 AFTER (Customer is wondering who's car this is...) IS 300 Sport Cross Evaluation Spot AFTER Lexus IS250 BEFORE Lexus IS250 AFTER
Hey Richard, how's the MR2? Since this thread was revived, I thought I would thread jack it again and post a pic I think you'll like Brothers! The MKI is an '88 with ~180k and in a rare Orange pearl mica color, only sold in '88!
Haha thanks!!! You know I just did a restore on a customer's MINI today and she also owned a second gen MR2 like on the left here, so I loaned her my MK1 as a loaner car for a few days..so both of these cars are very familiar lol. I never saw the orange pearl mica color..interesting..indeed very rare! The MR2 is still doing great...it's mostly parked in my shop on display. =)
Apparently Lexus uses even softer paint on their latest models. My brother works at Lexus and says every new 2012 and 2013 car that they've received (especially the GS models) are swirled and marred up the ass from shipping, even underneath the white protective film.
