After spending ~22 hours on a black E63 last weekend (Denzil helped me out to finish it on time).. I forgot my camera. BOTH days. Denzil brought his.. but we didn't get afters. Wtf?! I swore to myself I'd never forget a camera again for a detail as it's a way to share my adventures in "pro" detailing world! Today I remembered everything this morning on my way to Livermore for another big correction on a 335i. What happened? FORGOT MY FAWKING CAMERA AGAIN. And this car is DISGUSTINGLY bad.. m105/3m FCP+yellow wool x2, S03+ and 3M UK Green, 3M EFC + 3M Yelow, S40 + 3M Blue. Even so there's a lot of wetsanding that needs to be done on bad RIDS that isn't in the cards for this detail as his budget only allows for 20 hours.. 9 of which weregone today, and I haven't even thought about the interior yet :thud: At least I won't forget the camera tomorrow. I'm sleeping right next to it tonight! Sorry for the rant.. I wanna shoot myself :doh:
Couldnt help that ^^ Sucks Aaron, happens to everyone... even worse when you have a camera ready and arent allowed to take pics if your doing a mobile.... garrrr
What's funny is how much time you realize you gain from not taking pictures. Now that I'm completely mobile and don't have a garage to work out of anymore.. I don't bring my camera unless I know it's going to be a bad job that's worth taking pictures (or I forget!!). I probably gain at least 45 minutes to an hour on a detail by just not taking pictures. Adjusting to only mobile is a tough one.. I know you can attest to this having done more and more mobile (at least from your posts it seems this way).
I only take about 15 minutes total shooting pics. I don't like doing 50/50's because I don't like interrupting when I get in my zone. Just before and after, that's it. 15 minutes I can live with.
i have forgotten my camera a bunch of times too. it really pisses me off. luckily one of the times the owner of the bike let me use his and offered to take some candids of me working.
Yeah, that E63 was really bad, haha. If you ever need help again Aaron, we'll be sure to take proper pictures next time, LoL.
In this day and age, if you didn't get pictures and post them all over the internet it just plain didn't happen! :graduation:
I don't leave the house without my camera. You never know. Blackberries take great pics so you really have no excuse buddy!
I have an iPhone . Picture quality is less than average. I actually do have a small camera that I originally bought for detailing. A Sony T70. But I use it for going to the city and taking pics.. and random pictures so leaving it in the car isn't an option. Plus I use my dads truck to haul stuff around in.. and I don't want him takin' it . Today: I almost forgot my camera. I got ALL the polishing pics I wanted.. but when I went to pick it up to take some more shots, I dropped it and cracked the UV filter. Well, it actually shattered. Now the filter is jammed passed its threads.. and it won't come out. I shouldn't be arond expensive technology.. I always break shit :crash:
