I plan on doing some track events with my GT500 this year and wanted to get some opinions on the best way to protect the front end from chips. The options are: Clear Bra Car bra Painters tape Road Wrap When I first bought the car I had a 200 mile trip home and used painters tape, but half way home it started to come off in some sections and the flapping left marring (which I was able to remove with Megs 105). I am leaning towards a car bra and painters tape on the lower panels and lower rear quarters. I figure the car bra is easy on and off, can reuse several times, fits very snug and less time consuming. Suggestions?

i used a spray on bra from griots garage for lots of track days. works great but expensive when covering a lot of area. the wolf interests me. if you dont cover up and happen to run in the rain your rocker panels will get sanded trust me.
Knowing the Mustang doesn't really have great aerodynamics to begin with, how bad would it really drop if you simply removed the front bumper cover? Are you allowed to race with it removed anyways? Nothing can damage it if it's not there. :shrug:
Can't do that for the event, plus I run the risk of damaging the intercooler and radiator. Believe it or not the Shelby is very stable at high speeds and will do 180mph+.
Oh I don't doubt anything about the stability and speed, I was referring to the boxy front end "smashing" into the wind rather than cutting through it with a pointy round front end like a Zonda would let's say. But I understand about not wanting to damage anything. I didn't think of the intercooler (Then again, my V-mount set-up is pretty vulnerable to damage itself lol). Also didn't know if it was legal or not t race without a front end. I guess green masking tape would be cheapest
Sounds like you taped from the front to back when you last painters taped your Stang. I made that mistake too. You need to work from the back to front and the overlap will work in your aerodynamic advantage. I purchased some Wolf's Mask from Phil but haven't used it yet; he just got a lot in. Another option: Griot's Garage has a vinyl adhesive protectant. I think called road wrap.
