I like either the 4" LC CCS pads or if you have an Edge adapter Edge also makes nice 4"pads. The are only sold through the Cyclo name. AG also carries them.

 

Are these the pads you are taling about?

I like the 3m 3" pads they have better edges and last longer

 

CCS 3.5 to 4 inch pads are perfect, I've never killed one pad
I don't understand how a foam pad can have a use by date. Some of my pads are five to six years old and are still like new
I clean them after each panel with warm water and a little detergent

Even wool doesn't wear out
