Are these really 3M pads?

Looks like there are multiple sellers with these. I guess 3M most be discontinuing these or something.

So do I hold the honor of being crazy for ordering 32 of them...

 

I bought a extra plate from Powerhouse and had it machined down at work...you just cut it to the support ring and you get a 4.65 in plate that works great ..no rash or rubbing..I use 5..5 1/4 and 5 1/2 in pads no problem...the 3M blacks work great...

I use them with both the DG 501 and the M105....

on a rotary with M105 I use 1000 RPMs and its been the best yet...on the flex with DG 501 I use speed 2 ...both with the black pads

how well do these pads hold up under the pressure of a rotory also are they easy clean?

 

Joe..they are small enough that a good hand washing gets them clean..I just spray them with a quick shot of Dawn Power Disolver let it set a few minutes and then wash them with warm water..rinse in cold...cold water carries more of the residual soap out.....

Why does cold water carry more soap out? Wouldnt hot/warm water be better since it can hold more solution than cold water?

 

something to do with it changing the the soap to make it sorta semi solid if you know what I mean....

any ways thats what I was told by a chemist...lol....thats why a hot water wash and a cold rinse in a washing machine works best....
