Ok, then I wont worry about it. I just had seen a video of some guy trying to demonstrate the different programs....... rather frustrating to me. But Yes, I have a AT DSG. Im trying to get a down pipe before the tune, so ill see what happens. APR has just as good a rep as GIAC...again, thanks for the imput How does the tune smooth out the DSG, I know that from a stop it can be very glitchy so I was trying to maybe smooth that out, I read it can.

Yeah, I read that. I am going to do the APR tune, with possible the downpipe. Waiting on my source to see if they can get me the HPA one, if not ill do the APR. Should do what I want it to do. Thanks again guys
The tune does smooth out the DSG by the way, but you gotta remember it's technically not an automatic so it's not going to be as smooth as one. It's still jerky at times, but you get used to it.
I got APR stage 1 on my 2013 GLI DSG. Whole new car, ordering my downpipe and going stage 2 in a couple of weeks
same here 2011 APR tuned by Bill Jacobs VW, stage 1 is night and day difference, I have three different programs however to be honest i leave it on 93 octane tune. Biggest difference for me is the torque....
Yeah, I ended up just by passing Stage1. I ordered a APR downpipe and a P-flo exhaust and it will go to JHmotorsports later this month for the tune. Excited to see what I happens!

I though the FSI motors were the only one in need of a high pressure fuel pump? TSI's are direct injection and eliminate the need for that. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes the TSI need it to and if your going stage2 or higher it really helps a lot but not cheap 1k new. I have one and it makes a huge differance. If you go stage2 it helps a lot but stage3 you really need it.
If you do not do the fuel pump, what will happen. Im not opposed to doing that as well, if it has to be done but nobody from GIAC to APR dealers I have talked to have mentioned it.
Two words: Launch Control! Regarding the HPFP. I know a handful of people stage two and K04 without issues. I think it's more for the Golf R which is FSI.
Not interested in Unitronic. 1) I do not want to send out my ECU 2) ZERO factory support on the west coast along the lines of a brick and mortar installer and distributer anywhere near where I live. 3) I was only considering APR or GIAC due to their long history and reputable dealership networks. Unitronic seems to be a back east company with plenty of support which is great for those who have access to them. Nothing wrong with them, but just not on my radar
Yeah I understand what you mean, but lucky me I have multiple APR dealers in Houston and Unitronic in San Antonio which is not too far and its a nice drive to get there. But i was talking about a DSG tune, for anything with ECU local is best.
Interesting, I looked on Unitronic's website...... there is a dealer about 3 hours away. How did I miss that. One thing that I did note was that Unitronic requires 93 octane for their stage 1+ which we do not have in california. So I guess someone school me on Unitronic.
Unitronic is a good company but I feel like APR has a better reputation for reliable after market parts, supposedly some VW dealers offer APR
