:canada: I thought the Pro Gauge II measured anything that was magnetic. ...I am a nerd, but isn't there at least one element that is NF but magnetic?

I am 98% sure the bumpers are plastic. Maybe RUDNC and NoStreaks can tel you.

I would love to do this but I would need about 5-10 and pricing would be right around $569.95 plus shipping.

I am really excited about finding out about Pro Gauge II!

I work with a rotary so this would be a necessity... however i dont have one...

    I have 2 questions:
I saw the numbers 14 going down to 10 i think. How is this translated into microns?

Also, since this doesnt tell the thickness of the clearcoat, just the actualy paint (including everything) is the only knowledge to be gained from this how much you are taking off, and if a panel has been repainted?

    Thanks for helping us guys!!!!

I have he $2K PosiTector 200, reason I didn't go with the $2,500 one is becuase Gerry (a friend of mine who own's a high end body shop) advised me to not waist my money, here is what he told me. The way vehicles are painted now a days it's nearly impossible to graph the number of laywres on the surface of the paint. Vehicles are jus not given enough time for paint, primers..ect..ect..to dry properly and to create a laywer...well I went with Gerry's advise and I can understand his point of view now...but that was just my choice :peace:

The PosiTector 200 (the $2,000.00) has plenty of features for me, to keep me content :thumb: but like I said that's just my opinion, hope it helps :hippie:

grrr! too bad i cant detail in the winter! Or ide be tempted to buy one of the reallly good ones. But i think for right now its just that 50$ 1.

But it seemed like it worked... just took a while to get a close to good reading.

I really want one of the good electric ones but being 14 and a non heated garage really sets you back financially.

Oh absolutely, the 200 gauge is completely different system. Think of it as an ultrasound system, becuase that's exactly what it is that's why you have to use the gel that they apply, Rich from Polished Bliss UK told me that as long as you keep the surface lubricated you should be okay, meaning with water but I personaly prefer using the gel that comes with the gauge...so when I run out I'll purhcase a bunch more...but I should really give it a go with just plain water just to compare. Rich re-searched the PosiTector machines for a very long time and even now he gives me tips here and there ;)

Yea, i dont know many who would buy them but im sure there is a large markup on them and easily to make a few bucks! Especially if you dont have to stock them.
