Nahhh. Don't get me wrong I don't inhale every draw, maybe 1 out of every 5 draws... keep in mind this is not every stick, I only seem to enjoy inhaling after a few drinks...yummmmmm

NICE, Thanks ever so much for the pics!!!

I love the CAO Black box... it really it cool... I ended up putting a gift for someone in it... very classy!

NICE CAO sampler!!! My favs out of the sampler you have are the Black (obviously), and that is the Brazilia on the far right of the sampler right? Then the second one from the end on the left - It's a square roll right? Forgot the name.

I got the exact same tabacs.. you like them for what you are going to use them for and for the price you cant go wrong. Hell even for a quickie that you cant smoke all of the tabacs will do!

Let me know what you think of the Gurkha's

I dont smoke in the house so in the winter my smoking habits are toned down a bit.

I have about 10 sticks that should last me until the new year....

When I buy I will share some pics...ohhhh yeah!!

well I had a chance to try the gurhka while doing some work.. both seemed to go by quicker then I wanted.

It was a good smoke, nothing fantastic, but for 4 bucks i was impressed.

It has a nice early smoke that seemed to get more earthy and better balanced as the smoke went on.

I have a wonderfull taste on my lips. like what you would get froma camp fire.. it that makes sense.

I did notice it had a wonderfull white ash with hints of grey.

It is a smoke that needs to be enjoyed slowley, I found that when i puffed to quickly it let me know iwth an uneven smoke, one side was prob 1/2 inch farther then the other.
I started to slow down, it corrected itself and was a wonderfull smoke, burned very evenly.

I would pay more then 4 bucks for one of these

motorcity, i would def recomend trying one.. and the offer still stands if you want one

    Cigars are my passion.

I have been smoking cigars on and off since I was 17-18 (so about 12 years) I got very involved in purchasing cigars and meeting other cigar smokes when I joined Club Stogie in 04.

Now I usually buy cigars by the box, I am a member of several cigar forums and have a close group of friends I have met through those forums. I have a collection of about 1,000 cigars of various brands. My favorites are Bolivar, Partagas, Montecristo, H. Upmann & San Cristobal. I usually smoke 1-2 a week in the winter and 3-4 a week during the spring, summer and fall. I enjoy smoking in my garage with a nice beer, usually one I brewed myself. I prefer Stout, Brown Ales & Belgian beers are my with cigars. I love IPA's but I prefer a nice malty beer with a cigar.

There is nothing like relaxing on the couch with a nice homebrew and cigar!

My humidor is very low. But I need to get it consistent with the humidity. Any suggestions on how or what to do with it. My humidity stays around 60 but it needs to be around 70 correct? I just got it at Christmas and did an distilled water wipedown like the guy to my fiance to tell me. I put distilled water in the sponge like things. But it doesn't seem to be consistent.:bla2:

Davidoff's are my absolute favorite. A bit of a pain to even find the label here. Dunhills are good too.
I prefer a Churchill. Long smoke after a great meal is just short of heaven for me.

So you get it to your desired % and it doesn't hold it??

Maybe the seal is shot.. put a flash light in your humi and then turn it on, go into a dark closet and see if any lights shines thru you know your seals are bad.. (obviously this wont work for humi's with glass tops)..

Once you get the humi at the right % it should hold unless you have a seal leak...

70% is the lowest I would go.. I keep my humi at 70f and 70% I just opened it a second before I took this pic so it dropped a few %'s [IMG]

You can put a small dish with distilled in your humi until you reach 70% and then remove the dish and put your foam soaked in distilled in the box

60 is a bit low. I keep mine around 65%, but this is normal for a new humidor. It takes a while to get "seasoned".

65-70 is the normal range, it just depends on how you like your cigars. A cigar stored at 70% will taste different than one stored at 60%.

    A few questions:
Did you calibrate your hygrometer? If not a simple salt test will tell you how accurate it is. There are lots of descriptions on how to do this, here is one Stogie Tip: The Salt Calibration Test

    or

    Calibrating Hygrometers

Another thing that helps keep the humidity stable is a full humidor. More cigars = less air so it's easier to get the humidity up and keep it stable. It took me a while to get my desktop humidor stable after I got it. I would consider getting rid of the sponge and get better humidification media. Check out The Puck-ifier™ & RH Beads™ by Cigarmony LLC and Cigarmony.com for more info and pricing.

The RH beads are great. I use them in my overflow storage (a marine cooler with about 1.5 lbs of these beads)

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Motor! I will try the flashlight idea. I have a travel tube humidor and it works fine. Thanks for the info I will try those suggestions.

I've never tried the beads you posted but have tried alternate methods and didn't like the VERY faint taste that came with them... Do these beads have any faint smell taste?

I use distilled and have been very lucky with stable #'s

    No smell with the beads.

I have them in my cabinet humidor as well as the marine cooler. I didn't like the foam, used too much water and it would end up leaking on my cigars. You need very little water to recharge the beads.

If what you are using works go with it....I was looking for something that worked for me.

What have you found the advantages of the beads to be?

Just asking because like detailing new cigar items are fun to try, just picking your brain...

Glad you asked...it's been a while since I got them and forgot the most important thing.

The beads are an active media. They release and absorb water based on the RH in the humidor. So if you put too much water on the sponge inside "The Puck" they absorb water*, and as the humidity drops they release it.

*You can't go dousing the beads in water or they will crack...just add a little

Also, they are not prone to mold like the foam. Even with distilled water I still get a bit of mold on the foam after a while.
