No I do not use a Mirka Bullbog...to be honest I've never even heard of such mahcine, Rich (Polished Bliss UK) was kind enough to get these pads for me becuase I kept on buging him to get some for me :giggle: :giggle:

I have a Cyclo which might fit them but that's about it, I'm thinking of using them by hand. I wont be wet sanding an entire vehicle...well I wouldn't mind but if I ever do I'll get a machine to that. I got these pads to do spots or sections. These pads are much better compared to using the regular wet sanding paper if you ask me but I haven't used them, I just love the cusion they have on them.

I just used the 3m Ultrafina SE today:

    Cuts slower than 106FF
    No dusting
    Finishes GREAT
    No splatter
easy to wipe off (just dont wait until it dries)

    Final Verdict? A!!!!! :thud:

    I LOVE THIS STUFF!

Now Im going to answer this before it you ask it. Is it better than 106FF?
To me UF is very similar to 106FA.

I LOVE FA but would not replace FF with it. I love the quick cutting action of the FF. So all in all, its not a REPLACEMENT for Menz, but an addition to your arsena!

Those Abralon pads are made for the Bull Dog which is a wet D/A with a vacuum attachment. It can be used both wet or dry, the foam is there to absorb or spread water.

I believe those discs are $65+/- for 20 at the local auto body supply store. You can get Mirka Waterproof, one of the best papers in the auto body industry or Mirka Eco-wet and use a foam sanding block for about $20 for 50 sheets and a block.

 I agree, for me it's going to take some kind of magical product to diviate from Menzerna but it's always good to have a back up plan or like FMINUS said just an addition to your arsenal.

Thanks for the feed back FMINUS :peace:

Yes, I assumed that the pads were for a DA...you can get these pads in the US/Canada as well :yikes: huh interesting I couldn't find them mind you they were a tad cheaper coming from the UK even with the exchange it wasen't that bad. Eventually I'd like to get a DA just in case a need to do wet sanding to an entire vehilce or large surface areas but for now I'm quite confortable just doing it by hand....besides I've seen how fast a DA can burn through the clearcoat and paint and it's quite somethign ofcourse it all depends on the grit your using but still something I'd love to try but I can wait for it. Oh I've got the sanding block's and sheets and so on but I think these pads are going to be much better to use. The thing with the regular wet sanding paper is that when it comes to applying pressure with you fingers/hand it can be un even and the thing with using a wet sanding block is that you dont' always need the large surface area...sometimes you just have a spot to do and these discs should work quite well.

I'll provide more feed back once I use them, who know's they may not work so well by hand but worth a shot

Thank you for the feed back jsatek, very much appreicated :hippie:

I'm still considering the 3m as an alternate in the summer when it's too hot for the Menz...

I'm just balking at buying it now when I won't need it for 4 months...

I personaly don't like detailing outside in the elements, I mean if I had to well I would but I'm fortunet I don't have to.

I would be curious to see how the 3M line up would perform outside, I would assume it would perform quite well considering it has great lub's (if that's even a word) in it.

lol...I'm bad when it comes to ordering, even if it's going to collect dust I get it...but I sure like having it rather then saying wish I had it lol...but if you wont be detailing any time soon why not hold off on it till your ready to use it that would be my :2cents: but then again I rather just have it and be done with lol..but that's just me

I have the Bull Dog coming. I know its a champ, I used an older version before. Dont be afraid of it, just watch the edges!!

You may love the Abralons by hand. The 4000 should be really good for plastic lenses.

 yes I agree with you, all tools have a purpose and all tools work quite well, just need to practice with it. Heck I used to be scared of the rotary now I look back and wonder what I was so afraid of. I'd love to hear your feed back on the Bull Dog lol..what a name :giggle:

I've been wanting to get 4000 grit for a long time now, should work well..just can't wait to use it hopefully soon...I'm just itching to use these pads.
