yes. aslong as you keep heat gun at a safe distance and keep it moving so its not constantly blowing in one area for a long period of time you should be fine

Oh yes, thank you for reminding me about keeping the dusting to a mimum, Rich metioned it to me but thank you for reminding me. I need to play with the 3M products much, much more to better aquant my self with it, good thing I got a few vehicles to use it on :thumb:

Um...US dollars um...:shead: :shead: well close to $50..I think :shead: as far as shipping goes, I honestly don't pay attention to shipping, if I want it bad enough I'll pay for it but to be honest shipping wasent that bad at all about $100ish or so  not to bad if you ask me...but that's just me :peace:

Thanks, I really want some 3M stuff but it a bit to much $$ to order from PB in the UK. Wondering though whats the difference bewteen extra cut and fast cut plus and can you finish them with 106ff instead of ultrafina?

Well they are a bit pricey, as for your question to be honest I've only started to get my self aquaninted with with these products and this is what I've done. Now the extra cut if I remember correctly is the equivalent of of Menzerna Power Gloss Compound, fast cust is a less abrasive product compared to Extra Cut, now if I remember correctly and maybe someone else can correct me here Fast Cut is the equivalent of 85RD3.02? Like I said I could be mistaken here, so don't quote me on that. I need to start using it quite a bit before I can provide advise on how to use it...I'd hate to give wrong advice.

lol..wait till you see what else I got coming  but thank you :giggle: :giggle:

3M also introduced a new polishing pad specifically for the Ultrafina. I was just shown these products by one of my suppliers the other day, and he's really impressed with it.

I really appreciate you help, and you were pretty much right on with the descriptions, Rich from polsihed bliss emailed me back and said that fast cut was very similar to powergloss and that on extra hard clears a good combo would be the extra fine compund followed by fast cut plus and then finish down with ultrafina. I really want all 3 of these products but I did the math and its going to cost me $220 for one of each bottle shipped to me in NJ so its a bit to much to spend right now. I will look into Menz PG though also, again thanks for you help and good luck with the 3M stuff.

Oh good then I wasen't too far out then, Rich is a very helpfull person always willing to share his experiance with his products...that's why I enjoy doin business with him...as for the products they aren't cheap but like anything in life you get what you pay for...now the other thing is that you don't have to have them...I mean I'm a big Menzerna lover and I have yet to be disapointed with Menzerna, Menzerna has delivered every time I use it :thumb: but the only reason I purchased these products is to have backup, glad I could help dsms. If you have more questions feel free to ask, if I know I'll be more then happy to share if I don't well I'll just say that I don't know :D

Oh okay...these are the 3M pads from the UK, they are quite different compared to the ones you get in US or Canada. I find that the ones I picked up localy from the 3M head office here in town don't last as long and the pads are 8inche, I don't like 8inches I very much prefer the UK 6inches but that's just my personal preference....oh but about the wear and tear on the US/Canadian 3M pads there is another member here that told me he's been using the same pad I have and that the pad is still going strong... maybe I'm just hard on the pads I don't know lol.

No my friend not teasing just sharing with my home boys/girl :peace:

Nica, please post your review on 3M polishes once you try them out. I really wanna know how well they perform compared to Menzerna...
And if they worth ordering from UK...

I'll start using them on a few vehicles I got coming up, I'll do as best review as I can, I'll get Calgarydetail's point of view as well he's more anal then me lol.

Hopefully soon I'll be able to do a comparison between 3M UK and Menzerna.

Do you use the Mirka bullbog with those Abralon pads?
I just ordered a 6" bulldog today with some 6" 2000 grit pads.

I used to use a old school one of these many mooons ago in the body shop. I am going to start implementing it into a higher end resurfacing package for my clients.
