No worries I'm calm just a bit tired of this comparison.

Hey for all we know Menzerna mfgs 3m.???? And Zymol is made by Turtle Wax.

Anyone ever think Adam's came before CG....and how this is all public information is quite crazy....contract manufacturers and resellers usually sign non disclosures and don't make this information public, its true in the electronic manufacturing realm just curious who started all this. I think its a bit unprofessional. I think CG/Poorboys/Adam's are all good products for what they are targeting just trying to figure out who at these companies want to let everyone know they are sharing products and mfg....

Unless of course one is riding on ones successful marketing campaign???

Who knows maybe they are all just really one company...

guys...shhhhhh Calgary is going to hear...:shh: :shh: :shh:

Man it just amazes me to find out who's making what and for whom, it's amazing but at the same time it makes sense..I mean think about it this way. If I was to start to produce my own APC, polishing products..ect...ect..ect..ect..it woul cost me Millions of dollars to purchase all the equipment, warehouse, employees..ect..ect..and then for the products to not sell...it's just not practical...while I could literally go to Chemical Guys, Zymol, Swissvax..ect..ect...list goes on and get them to manufacture me my own line and yes I'll still pay for it but much less then it would cost for me to set up my own manufacturing plant.

Well that's just my :2cents: on that, so it dosen't surprise me if someone says Turtle wax = Zymol or viseversa  all I care about is that the product delivers...don't really care where it comes from as long as I'm happy with my purchase that's all that maters :thumb:

CG has a private labeling program, thats where all of the spinoff companies are coming from.

The way I see it, it doesnt matter to me who makes the product if it works well and is its own formula. Basically if the product is being bottled under another brand, is the exact same thing, and cheaper, I want to know.

Call me cheap, but to be able to indulge myself and buy lots of different detailing stuff I really dont need, Ive got to be able to shop around for the best prices.

Also, I hold nothing against detailing companies who don't manufacture their own stuff. Its a business, and if they are marketing a good product, then more power to them.

For the consumer (like me) who buys 16 oz or less products, I would buy from someone that gives good service. If buying in bulk (1 gal) for a business then you buy from someone else. The only comment I have is that Paul at CG is just a salesman and some are clearly trying to spread the word that they make everything for everyone.

I look at products like recipes. There are only so many flour, butter, milk, etc. suppliers plus the raw ingredients (fish, meat, poultry) in the world but with the right chef and the right recipe it works wonders. That is, the blender is just one part of the product definition. I am sure CG would take credit for anything they can. But, support is just as important for many people. I want to talk to someone I trust and will support me if I am not happy.

Paul has the BEST customer service I have seen to date. He has given me free samples, refunded my money and let me keep the product if I wasnt WOWED by it, have me try prototypes and give my inputs, this is something that no other vendor has done up to this date.

He has also on many occassions talked me out of buying from him because he deemed it "useless" It took me 5 trys for him to sell me Maxi Suds 2 because he said "why? wash and gloss is such a better product!"

I've tried CG products side by side to their private label counterparts, and there has been little to NO difference b/w them. Spend your money wisely...

in CG's defense they go give their private lables the ability to alter the compound.

unfortunately adams, jorgens, poorboys etc do not employ a private chemist to be able to, and if they did, they would have no use for CG.

Agreed. Wasn't bashing CG, just stating my observations of CG v. some of the private labels. I have a feeling that perhaps some of the formulations changed after the big hoopla @ Autopia a year or two ago.

I do not think you need a chemist. I am sure they have a chemist you work with to tailor formulas. I would assume it is about cost...For ex. you can use a std formula for one price or use a custom formula for a higher price or larger minimum order quantities. I do not know about exclusivity to formulas but CG gets to learn and use for the future.

From what I have seen. in the 16 oz sizes, CG does not seem to sell lower than than anyone else. It is in the larger sizes you start to see price differentiation.

wouldnt know, never took an interest in how they work. Being a chemist myself, I never had to lol :D

There can be a reason for this. Finding a chemist is easy; finding a chemist who can produce a quality car care product is not. Just being a chemist does not give the ability to make anything in the world yet be competitive with companies who specialize in automotive waxes. I am an Engineer and specialize in Mechtronix/Robotics, I am very good at it, on the flipside I am not very good in other aspects of my field such as electrical design…I CAN design an electrical panel but have some fire extinguishers ready. I am also sure there are guys out there who make great wax products who are not chemists, just hobbyists. I too have been looking at making our own products, Even if I found a good chemist the chances of us saying “Make us a great Carnauba car wax” and actually have him/her come up with a competitive wax is highly unlikely. Most chemists that specialize in car care products are unfortunately for us working full time for another company and already produce good products. It leaves a small company like us one option, private label or go broke trying to come up with a competitive product from scratch.

most chemists who know anything about polymere and natural sciences can build a a good carnauba wax, its quite simple actually :D But you get what you pay for with ingredients :D

hehe...man theres always a debate about which product is made by who...

anyways...i think they are the same,

VRT is really a flat/matte look...and it is water based..so it would easily wash off. It isn't meant to be high gloss!
