Does anybody know what 3m polishes I should use before this one. My dads friend owned a Napa auto parts and can get me 3m products a a good price. I am interested in trying out something more aggressive before this.

This is the heavy hitter. I have used it with yellow and black edge wool. Black only for extreme defects. You can work it till its about dry, wipes off very easy.

They do make a SMR, but from what Ryan tells me its only average. When I have to do heavy cutting with the 3M ECC, I follow with a green wool pad and presta 1500. Some use SIP or IP after ECC and before UF.

If you don't have to work the ECC for a long time and use a yellow wool pad, on certain paints you might be able to go straight to UF.

It does not have be an extreme polish just something like to power along the lines of SIP.

OK so has anyone determined that the 3M Ultrafina here in the States is the same 3M Ultrafina in the UK? Nica do you think they are the same? I'd like to know as I can purchase it locally here or if not I have a relative headed to the UK and might see if he could pick some up for me.

I wouldn't mind trying some, but I'm still concerned about the ability to be worked in hot temps...

I have a sample of this, and it works pretty good in hot temps. I tired it in the sun on a red car. Worked fine. One thing i hate though is that sometimes it slings oil or water of some sort and when that gets on some black trim that has been sitting out in the sun it stains!!!

It will sling oil and that is ok. That means you are using the right amount.

Ultrafina works excellent on hard clears, but it works superb on those pain in the butt soft blacks.

This is a must have product!
